Weekend plans :)

Looking forward to taking my boy to his first clinic - just a test ride one, but will be good to see how he copes and decide whether to aim for a competition
In November.
Hope Fergus is ok, and the disco is easy to fix.
Good luck for weather everyone... hoping rain stays off.

I am tentatively looking, could I ask for more info via message please? (I assume it's a 3.5t if it's having an MOT? I don't have the license for anything heavier)

It is but I think I’ve changed my mind again in a matter of hours. Picked her up and she came with the report of this drives better then most lorries which are 15 years older. Also selling my car (convertible) early winter seems a bad time to sell in terms of demand.

Essentially I love the lorry and have once again talked myself into keeping it despite minimal use. 🙈 if you are still looking in spring drop me a message, as will definitely make a solid decision one way or another then.

Girls and their horse boxes 🙈

I've been waiting to post this for two weeks.......I'm picking up my new lorry today! 😀😀😀😀😀😀Then tomorrow we're going out to a BD comp with my instructor and her horse. She will win, which leaves the rest of us chasing only the score, as the venue sticks very strictly to the one rosette per 6 entries policy, but if we manage to beat our (low) PB I won't mind 😀

I don't blame you! No problem, will do - alternatively if you make a decision any time between now and then, just let me know! As I say I am tentatively looking hopefully by word of mouth as buying online is a minefield - so won't likely find one any time too soon!

Just hacking and hopefully we can sort a new saddle out for L. It’s gorgeous but my fitter isn’t happy with it and wants to play around more with flocking etc.

More exploring tomorrow, hopefully without another dust storm 🙄 or the crazy winds.

Have a great weekend all 😎

Cheers, I'm trying to work out if I can do it myself and save a few quid. I'm not to be trusted with these sort of things ;)

What year of Disco is it? I'm guessing a D2 or D3? and what's the damage like?
If you were closer I'd say to bring it up to us and OH would sort it just for the cost of panels but you're the other side of the UK :/. The offer's there if you fancy a holiday!

Bless you, that's a kind offer! It's actually the headlight he smashed - I think it should be easy enough to change in theory?!

Hmmm. So much for not doing too much... Considering a bit of indoor hire tomorrow to escape the rain, now the horses are in most of the time for winter. Pros: stay dry, easier to work him well indoors because he doesn't prat about. Cons: extra travel and he's got a clinic on Tuesday.

Have dressage entered tomorrow but might withdraw as I've had a horrid cold and I don't think a drowning would probably help. Don't like wasting the money but sometimes (very rarely) need to be vaguely sensible. Hopefully got to a RC clinic on Sunday instead as drier.

Do it MP....

He will have Sunday and Monday in between.....

Good girl..... When the weather misbehaves, you have to do what you have to do to get them exercised....

I'm sure you won't be riding him into the ground on either day ;)
Lol! nope, 30 mins and he's ready to stop at the mo ;)
there's a SJ show at the same place so it will be a good opportunity to see what he's like in a lorry park and with other horses coming and going, and then we can shut ourselves away to concentrate.

Well I wasn't expecting my indoor arena hire to be rained off... 🙄
Roads so flooded it was a fight just to get to the yard and not worth risking getting stranded. Bullocks! 😤

Oh booo. I think I’ll skip hunting tomorrow with the ground so wet :(

Hunter trial tomorrow is cancelled... Emergency reroute to Chill's owner's yard to hire her arena to do some jumping before next weekend. That is if that isn't cancelled too!! This rainnnnnn is soooo annoyingggg!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear of all the cancelled plans due to the weather!
We had orange weather warnings for rain and it's only just eased off but by the time I get to the yard (1hr drive) it'll be bloody dark . I guess this is the universe telling me to go and do some more work on the truck instead <sigh>.

Gosh sorry to hear so many of you were rained off! Weather not too wet here but it has been very cold! It did have a good hail storm at one point which just so happened to be half way around my hack! But thankfully it blew over quickly

I'm sorry guys 😭😭😭

The weather here in Co Down has been lovely today, though frosty last night.

F and Daisy jumped their first 70cm for ages with a nice albeit slow DC.

A year ago I wanted to slow the wee minx down, now id like to speed her up😂😂

Still not decided where to go tomorrow 🤔🤔

Hunting cancelled today. Have a clean and trimmed pony but luckily hadn’t done the lorry or plaited by the time I heard yesterday. Instead waiting to hear back from two venues for arena hire so things are a bit in the air this morning.

Sorry to say the weather has been fine here too, plenty of gales though!

New saddle is finally in my hands and is great! A bit of tweaking and L has agreed with it :D
I'm happy that we can now crack on with some serious schooling with her, she needs to build her topline up :)

Obligatory picture of L below! Hope everyone had a super weekend.

Well it's been HOT here, 35C was a rude shock to the system. I had 2 brilliant lessons with my coach from Melbourne, SJ on Friday was productive but not anything really amazing. Just focusing on self carriage over fences and slowly building things up. Worked on me a bit which was very useful.

Then today we went XC training. It was soooo hot, but Henry was awesome. He answered all the questions perfectly and I was brave enough to do some more technical stuff with him. He showed everyone how it's done and felt so established. Probably the first session we have had where he felt so confident and like he truely understood. Very proud of him (and me!). Just have to keep the right drift under control! IMG_3313.jpg

So many cancellations! What a shame. Horse riding in the UK can be so frustrating at times.

I am not sure why but the yard horses are all very unsettled at the moment. Fireworks maybe? Deedee is spooking violently at all sorts of minor triggers that she has been fine with up till now. But lots of them are like that at the moment so I think she is feeding off the others. Dolly, Jenny and Amber are their normal chilled out selves though which is good.

I have been riding Amber and doing groundwork with Deedee using Mark Rashid's Aibado type stuff. I'm not sure if I am brave enough to do a thread though. It's a bit 'out there' but quite interesting..... Well if you like that kind of thing!

Hope people manage to get out and about today.
