Weekend Plans

@Michen They do not hate you, they probably think you are fantastic for giving them an awesome holiday.

Is it a holiday to be out 24/7 in the wind and rain when you are used to your stupid owner running up to fetch you at the first hint of bad weather? :D

Made a rod for my own back! At least they are "elsewhere" so they won't be expecting to come in. And the field is no where near the stables so they won't be able to gaze at what they are missing!

What a nice pop your horse has!
Thank you! He’s definitely the best SJ horse I’ve ever owned (by a long way!). Anyone who follows me on Instagram knows I can’t shut up about how much I love him and how much fun we’ve had in the last 5 months! Im sure everyone here is sick of it too ?

really good news. Did you ever get to the bottom of what caused the tie up?

The hair test for PSSM came back negative, so I'm dithering about whether to go for a muscle biopsy or not. She's going to have more blood tests at the end of Jan and, depending on the enzyme levels in those, we'll see - if they're at all elevated, we'll get a muscle biopsy; if not, we'll put it down to me pushing her too hard when she wasn't really fit enough.

She's just getting Saracen Re-Leve at the moment, no additional vitamin E, and the only PSSM symptom she's showing is being sweaty when she got back from hacking - which could just as much be due to her being largely unclipped, unfit, and very excited to be out.

Charlie never fully tied up, but, normal horses don't show muscle tremors after a bit of mollichop. Add to that a bit of difficulty cantering, ulcers, a tendency to bronk and dark pees, all pointed to some not rightness along those lines. I'm super cautious what he eats and try to keep him low sugar. I'm about to try some added protein from forage plus as he could do with a bit more since I took him off alfa (mallanders). He does get a single 2000iu dose of vitamin e, baileys balancer, pink mash, linseed and a bit of outshine. He despises being cold or wet so he's well rugged but he's not too difficult to manage.

Hope your boy has just tweaked something CC, good vibes to all sick notes.

Michen, they'll be furry and feral when you get back but they'll have a grand time

Few pics from our weekend

Its no wonder I struggled to sit on his canter for a long time is it ? I think that one is my favourite

Your cob is so much like mine. They have the exact same canter! Mine is just less white.

I had a lesson from the regular visiting instructor today. He was an excellent boy, but rather jolly. We may be having a little jump tomorrow ?
I'm in the middle of investigations for a dodgy shoulder so haven't jumped in ages but I wanted to have a go after seeing one of the yard kids loving her lesson yesterday ? So I'm going to go for it. Eek ?
