Try as I might I cannot stop the Special Needs greyhound from licking the furniture :confused: It is totally random and I have no idea why she does it  I tell her off every time, so she knows she shouldnt do it, and she gets plenty of fuss generally so I dont think it is attention seeking?

Do your dogs have any weird habits? :D

Or maybe it is just greyhounds......

Tassy looovvveees being hoovered! will position herself in front of the dyson untill I have spent 5/10 min hoovering her all over..... lucky she likes this as she moults A LOT!

Shiny, light reflecting objects. He comes running if the cutlery draw opens or at the sound of a DVD/CD case being opened *He's very special*:D

Oh and I forgot another one - Amy is obsessed with toothbrushes :D The wind blew the bathroom door open the other day, so she got in and had a look around while I was out - and she carefully selected my toothbrush and chewed it into pieces  She has done that before...

Thank god I had a new toothbrush waiting to be unwrapped :D

Roo - licks the leather sofa and likes soap

Badger - his teddies go everywhere, if we go for a car trip he will cry if teddy is not with him!!

Mr Bear - he chases me around when I put moisturiser on!!

Floofy thinks all water bowls should die. After he sticks his head in them or tips/pours them over himself, of course.

Loki still does this :( He'll be drinking happily for a minute, then notice that he's created an air bubble or two in the water. Then the water must be punished for it's unfathomable bubble making properties

Other odd/infuriating habits include snatching small bits of twig off the ground, and chomping them up. Then I fret about his throat and stomach from eating bits of wood.... for him to poo out splinters whilst giving me evils as though it's my fault

The hoover is actually a terminator in disguise. It threatens us all, and Loki is the only one that understands the fatal nature of the threat.

And the loo brush :o The bathroom door must be locked at all times, otherwise he will grab the loo brush and parade around with it. Has done this one since he was 8 weeks and the brush was bigger than he. It's obviously quite the trophy from a puppy point of view :o

Every morning when we are going back in the house after morning wee's / ciggy in the garden B stops on the same step for her morning stretch.... it takes about 5 mins and she will NOT move untill she is finished stretching.

She throws her toys at the door when she wants to go outside.

She likes to collect all her toys and sprawl out on top of them all.

If I appear in a towel after a shower she will lick the water off my legs / arms.

When she is let into our bedroom she springs onto the seat in the bay window and watches the world. Every time.

She watches Meerkat manor religiously.

She is special.

I thought it was just mine, the lady who minded him for me before I got him, they let their dogs scoot bowls around the floor and play with them, I thought that's where he got it from, but maybe not!!!

Keep a few tupperware thingies full of water in the freezer and pop them out a couple of times a day. He can get his water out of it and it will keep him busy for a good while :D

Pix, the parading/carrying off thing is great foundation for work...get thee to a club, woman!!!

My yellow lab loves so suck her vetbed like a dummy! She has done this since a puppy (now8!!) she will lay down with it between her front paws and pull a bit up in to a peak and then suck on it!

He's had a 'thing' with the water bowl since he was little. I always make it clear I'm not happy with it, yet he persists. I just accept now there's no cure! Fortunately he only does it these days if he notices bubbles etc., rather than a more general 'omg! water!!' reaction. Fortunately we have an ice machine downstairs and he looooves chasing ice cubes, so he's easily distracted.

I've been meaning to send you a long, boring, confused-newb ramble regarding clubs that do WT/Sch via PM if you don't mind? :)

Betsy is also aware of the threat of the big noisy thing on wheels.

It can throw a human through a concrete wall with one flick of its nozzle! Or so I'm told... :D

My 2 have nicked all the strawberries out the garden, was looking forward to having them for tea, even had the cream.:( I knew they liked fruit as they have often in the past taken apples out the fruit bowl. Gutted about the strawberries.

The water bowl thing is definitely a shepherd trait, hose pipes also have to be killed.
Evie's current habit/obsession is spending hours standing in one spot gazing throught the hedge in the hope that the foxes the other side will come and play with her. Unfortunately for her I think they have sussed that she wants to play foxhounds.:p?
Pix, my friend goes to some really good WT training sessions somewhere in North Manchester, I can find out more details if that is any use.

Fascination with motorbikes... think he'd like one

Snorkling for ice cubes in his water bowl, or stuff at the bottom of a river.....

Chucking his toys around whislt shanking his head at them, or staring at his tennis ball with the "why are you not moving" look on his face!

remembered Nanook's - loves toilet rolls and toilet paper- I have to dodge the snot rags whilst on walks as he will try to eat them.

He can create a look before you leap scenario- go in for a wee- turn round to find the loo roll has been stolen.....

Where do I start...

He loves watching the tv (he's currently engrossed in On her Majesty's Secret Service), special fascination with food programmes but anything goes... Will also demand tv to be put on if he considers it time to be telewatching! Also watches the laptop and if you are using skype or watching a vid clip will try and climb on your knee for optimum viewing!

He also licks the tv (have u ever tried to get dog snot off a tv screen before?!), the stereo, the carpet, the furniture and walls/doors at the stables...

He's obsessed with our neighbours cat and will spend hours staring at, and stalking her.

He loves cuddly toys and will 'demand' sheep or monkey and if you ignore him pokes you with his nose and gives a little woof!

Always runs round and barks at the birds when I top up the garden birdfeeders.

The hoover is a monster and must be given as wide a berth as possible.

Will go into a catatonic trance at the sight of running water i.e. the bath and if you don't shut the door properly will come into the bathroom and stare fixedly at the water (and you, very disconcerting when you are starkers in the bath!).

Obsessed with his ball, stick, twigs - in fact any object vaguely capable of being thrown or carried.

Will 'nibble' you when excited or wants attention. He sort of grinds his teeth on you without actually nibbling if that makes sense.

Loves any body of water no matter how small or how manky he will go and lie in it - always jumps in the water trough on the canter track at the yard no matter what the weather.

When you call him back i.e. 'come here' will look around to see 'why' you want him to come back... i.e. may be another dog or person in the vicinity.

Sleeps on the sofa on his back with all his legs in the air and always likes a 'pillow' for his head - he'll shuffle his blanket up to make a pillow or rest it on your knee etc.

Will take his pigs ears, paddywhack outside to chew but quite happily shred a stick on the carpet.

Blimey, that's a long list... What can I say, he is a collie :-)

My dog is a weird habit.

He barks at pears, as in the fruit, yeah....
He tries to bite the lawnmower, off or on.
He humps golder retrievers, no other type of dog, only golden retrievers, male or female.
He talks to you, his vocal range is quite something/bloody annoying.
He cries when you try and put the chickens to bed, he hates them being chased!
He can't fathom out eggs, he barks at them and dobs them with his nose.

This dog is seriously weird. He's a rescue, found as a stray. We think he may have escaped from a circus/mental asylum.....:P :D

My doggy loves chasing ; shadows, those little light patches that reflect of watches? , hoovers , ,her tail , chewing socks ,barking at ironing boards and stuff. but shes proper mad :D

My Vizsla would chase her tail....in its self not too exciting..but she would try and ambush it by sitting down furtively glancing at it, then pinning it to the floor with a paw, then triumphantly lunging at it..to be mystified and disappointed that it had gone.

The samme dog would hunt and point at flies on the wall....I always thought she should go to Specsavers, as she would occaissionaly point at picture hooks too

My gorgeous old labrador cross Sadie who died a few years ago but still miss terribly - my parents used to doggy sit when I went to work and they had beautiful yellow and red tulips all down the side of the garden - that is until Sadie took liking to one of the colours (can't remember which one it was now) and ate every single one of that colour oops

I know meant to be dogs but when it's dinner time one of my cats jumps on his scratching pole and chases his tail for a good 5 mins everytime I start preparing food he's 4 now and still doing it!

Dylan likes to 'chew' my finger nails. He uses his tiny front teeth either side of my nail & nibbles very gently, not leaving a mark. He does the same to the thin, whippy tail of the IWS down the road. Strange boy.

Stan has to eat his biscuits one at a time, whilst looking at us. He picks up the biscuit, turns to face us, then munches.

My cat is extremely special...her latest obsession is licking toilet rolls. She is seriously odd.
