What complete and utter scum bags!!! It makes me so angry that people can be such arse wipes.

I am a strong believer in Karma though!

Poor you, we had all our yards electric fence zappers stolen over the snowy period when the horses weren't out!! Instead of replacing them just for the f****s to make a return visit and steel them again, the yard has gone onto mains supply!! Poor horses get a fair zap now! But at least no zappers to steal!

As said above, I've heard of trailers that have been attempted to be stolen and if they can't get them then they just trash them, they seem to think if they can't have it, you can't either!

You should have left bear traps in there. That would have surprised them.

We had our small stables broken into a short while ago, all the locks were picked and left open. Luckily (or perhaps not) we have been burgled before so leave nothing of value. Fortunately the burglars didn't seem too upset and left without causing further damage. Hope I haven't spoken too soon as I can't take the horses home.

Very sorry for what happened. Leaves a nasty feeling.

The farm where I live is visited on a regular basis by the thieving lowlifes.

We don't leave anything of any value with the horses and luckily they don't often go to the stable yard, usually take diesel and metal and any tools they can find from the main yard.

Did once have my saddle up there, very smug as I had it on a saddle lock thinking it would be safe - bast###s ripped the seat with a stanley knife in temper cos they couldn't get it.

I feel so sorry for you!! I live in an area where theivery is renowned I am just lucky as there are 3 houses on our property and 2 very large dogs(one Alsatien one English Mastiff) this seems to deter them! There is nothing worse it makes you feel so uncomfortable! Theiving b******s need their hands cut off!!!!

I am so sorry for you. What a horrible experience. My house was burgled 30 years ago - I came home when he was in the house, so he didn't get much. Some things taken were of great sentimental value.

When I read these stories I am so pleased I moved to France. No litter, no drunken hooligans and little theft.

Yah, but then they could have sued you if they got injured! Really, WTF has this world come to?!

Slightly OT, but sorta relevant anyway - a lady who works with me had her house "broken in" to the other night - her grown son was still up so the back door wasn't locked. So it must have been some chancer who was checkin doors. Anyway, they came in and took her car keys (left a £20 note on the table tho) and stole her car!!!! Total chancer, cos it's not like it was a car parked in her own space - it was on the street on a street full of flats!

So she obs had police etc and then she rang the insurance who said that if they had an accident in her car, it was HER insurance that would be liable! I wonder if that means HER premium would be affecte?

Sorry bout the theft of your stuff and vandalism of your property. It sucks, I'm sure! :(

First of all, sorry for the bad news. I know how you feel, because about 3 or 4 years ago that yard I used to be at got broken into twice in 3 months.

Thing is, thieves are known to often come back to the same place. They take the chance that the victim has replaced the stolen goods because they know that the victim is likely to replace with very similar type items (i.e. if there was a saddle, the owner will most likely be replacing the saddle, likewise with, say, a Quadbike etc.) - and they take the chance that the victim hasn't yet got around to upgrading their security yet, because the victim has had to first of all spend all available funds as a priority on replacing the items necessary for the horse (does that make sense?).

It's a sad, bad world.

I know how you feel - I was broken into in January last year - they took all my tack, headcollars etc and tried to take my trailer - luckily all the security locks held, so now we have drop bollards in front of the gates - 1 year and 5 days later, they tried again - the damaged the bollard trying to force it open, but luckily it held - there was no other damage.

It's obviously a certain type of people that live buy moving to different places at different times of year, but for some reason, no one can touch them.

Just wondering where in Lancs you are, because we were done over early hours of Monday (Cheshire - just off A580) and they couldnt get in tack rooms but rammed main gate and took my trailer (even tho it was clamped).
Reported it to police and so far, apart from a crime number, not seen hide nor hair of a policeman, despite complaining yesterday. The operator told me there were no other lines of enquiry yet I know of quite a few people were robbed the same night and it all co-insides with the great unwashed pitching up and setting up camp on the 580. Call me cynical, but......

It seems nothing is safe these days and the thieving scum just get away with it
