wet and windy weekend plans!

Ouch, michen...

Well I’m not long back from viewing horse number one. I wasn’t expecting to like him so much as he’s a little younger and a little smaller than I wanted but I really really liked him! 🙈

I felt safe on board and he looked after me when I made a mistake through a combination. We popped round a small course of about 1m once I’d had a little play and found the right buttons, and he was just really nice and uncomplicated.

There’s really nothing to not like 🤷 plus he’s relatively local so I can get my own vet to do the vetting if I decided to go for him 🤔

I have a feeling I’m going to have to do pros and cons once I’ve been to view the other two 😄

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I have a lesson tomorrow then a busy Wednesday with lessons, the vet, the saddler and hires. horse shopping again Thursday - keep your 🤞🏻 I find ‘the one’ 🙂

We had a fab lesson today after a rather boring weekend. Worked on teaching kira to accept the whip as an instruction to engage behind rather than just get uppity. She started to cotton on quite fast which had a transformative effect on the canter, making it easy to maintain the uphill quick canter she needs now and then when I tapped her behind in a line of 2 tempis she came through more rather than bucking and missing the aid 🤣

Same principle in some canter piris was equally effective, trainer said "wow" which is pretty good imo!

She's really understanding the work now and it's very exciting 🤩

We have snow on the ground where we live right now, its not got above 0 all day. Im planning to go BS this weekend, I dont care much about the weather to ride in but I wont go out if the roads are still snowy or icy - thats a risk I wont take. Ive barely been able to ride though, roads too icy and only have a field to ride in which is frozen solid. Roll on summer!

Beau’s round this afternoon.

Keeping an open mind about potential horses. Have just been sent videos of a nice 8yo by Mr. Blue, who I’m quite partial to.

Will just have to wait and see what happens
They look big 😮 Well done
Oops sorry, I thought that was you jumping.

My weekend didn’t quite go to plan and ended with a broken ankle for me! We were having a super day with a pack we haven’t hunted with before, Boggle was absolutely on fire jumping all manner of huge fences until he pecked on landing at a tiny rail, I fell off holding the reins and landed on my feet- ankle broken.

Such a shame- doctor says 8 weeks no riding but... we shall see!

Main thing is Boggle is absolutely fine as if it had been him broken I would have been devastated, and he was such a star hacking back to box with me and my dangly wobbly ankle. View attachment 27827View attachment 27827
Oh noo ☹️

I had a really good dressage lesson yesterday. I seem to be getting it more. I've also discovered my contact is much steadier when I sit the trot. Less moving about I suppose.
Normally I'm prone to overthinking things but for some reason I was able to get on the horse yesterday and feel rather than think👍
