Hi so I’m currently in the market for some new everyday boots I bought the Dublin river 111 boots last year and after a year of wearing them almost evey day and never cleaning them they have cracked and the sole has worn out work atleast 45 hours a week on a yard which means I need boots that can be worn around the yard and ridden in than I’ve to look after my own horse so I’m wearing them for lord more hours it’s so important for me to have waterproof boots and something that I can do light riding in what does everyone recommend ??

Note: I do absolutely love the Dublin boots and In no way saying I won’t buy them but just trying to figure out if there’s anything else out there that would work better for me if not I’ll probably end up buying them agai.

Ariat Grassmeres are comfy, warm and waterproof and with the laces more fitted than other country boots. However they do come with a hefty price tag. I’ve also had Windermere’s but they’re the only Ariat boot I wouldn’t recommend as both times the lining came away at the heel and the second pair I had to cut off as I simply could not get my foot out.

I don't ride in country boots either but I do wear them every day for yard and dog walking
I got a pair of Shires Moretta ones from Hope Valley half price (think they were about £65) and they were an absolute b***h to break in, but they are good now!!
I don't expect to get more than a year and a bit out of them so paying half price is definitely better!

I like the ariat terrain short zipboots for summer, I ride, muck out, dog walk in them. Very comfy, easy on/off and cooler than long boots. Bit pricey at 130 and the zips don't go right to the top which is my only moan about them but could just be my feet

Another vote for Ariat Grassmere and they are designed for riding too so have a safe sole. I've never had any issues with lack of grip in slippy conditions either.

I'm on my third or fourth pair as they last me approx 3-4yrs. Admittedly I dont do as many hours in them as you would be and I dont work with horses.

I have ariat grasmeres too but I find them too warm in the summer, so I have shires riding boots with a chunkier sole, rather than competition type boots for the summer.

I have the laced version which are more adjustable especially as I now need to use arch supports. Unless in wellies I pretty much wore these all last winter as well as through summer. Much as I like Grassmeres the laces can be a pain and they are not as adjustable for arch supports. My wellies I bought a bigger size to accommodate.
