I had a call from my 'friend' today, basically along the lines of "nah nah I told you so" over Henry. Obviously it wasn't put quite like that, but, she did say that I should have listened to her and I shouldn't have spent the money on him that I did as obviously it was a waste, and it all ended in tears just as she predicted....
Oh, and get this, even though she knew it was a waste to buy him his stuff etc she'll nobly 'take it off my hands' as I don't want it here. She said she'd be along tomorrow and collect his rugs, feed, feed bins, fly rug, headcollars, ...basically everything aside from a couple of buckets which I'll need for the companion pony.
I said thanks, but no thanks, as I've decided to give his things to a charity, which I think will be a rather fitting tribute to him.
So, if anyone runs/knows a charity in Lincolnshire I'd love to bring his stuff to you, if you can make use of any of the following;
f/s lunge cavesson, lunge line and roller
Excercise sheet
1 h/w turn out full neck (6ft3)
1 m/w turnout with detatchable neck (6ft3)
2 blue cotton sheets (1 6ft & 1 6ft3)
1 m/w stable rug (6ft3)
1 heavy stable underrug, the black full neck quilted one
A carrier bag with a couple of leadropes, cob size headcollar fly fringes, an ear net thing
I'm keeping his headcollar and leadrope, pink and purple summer sheet and bridle. I use his grooming kit on the dogs, pony etc so am keeping that as well.
If anyone knows of any charities in Lincolnshire I'd love to help. I'm not looking at selling them, it's no odds to me should they sit in my tackroom for the next X amount of years, I'd just love Henry's things to help another horse. The reason I specified Lincolnshire is that a) the things are heavy and postage would be astronomical and b) I was actually secretly hoping that I'd be able to take the stuff and meet the horse/s that Henry would be helping.
