hi there jw what you all wear to ride in, as in schooling rather than hacking

Well for years i've had mountain horse boots and chaps, they are soooooo comfy and hard wearing, but mine were well worn, so i bought some Toggi Calgary Boots - admitedley i've only worn these a handful of times so they may not be padded in yet, but i disliked them for schooling (i do alot of dressage), i found them too rigid, and am now back to wearing my MH ones for schooling. Nice smart hacking boots though

i have a really comfy pair of long boots. but normally i hate long boots for schooling and stick to my comfy mountin boots. i feel my leg is more effective some how lol

i cant ride in short boots anymore, i feel all over the place! altho thats all i ever used to wear, jodh boots and chaps. now i wear mark todd winter boots, all yr round for everything. v cosy and supportive. altho not waterproof if u step in an ankle deep puddle, so its wellies on for the field!

I use some Tredstep boots, with Ariat close contact gaiters. I hate cheap boots to ride in. For hacking round home I wear my hugely comfortable Sarm Hippique long boots. I've had them years, going into holes and completly covered in muck, but I would happily ride and work all day in them!!!!!

Another who can't ride in short boots any more. I always wear my Ariat Bromonts - I have the summer and winter ones

Toggi Calgary for everyday riding as I always have them on at the yard, I also have Mountain Horse Classic High Riders II for nicer stuff.

I only wear my short Toggi winter yard boots when I know I wont be riding and there is no snow. I do not like riding in short boots, I have a problem turning in my toes and short boots definitely do not help.

Ariat boots & close contact chaps for everyday and my Regent long boots(I'm 90% sure they are regents) for comps/lessons hunting

Ariat boots with chaps for normal, but I got a pair of ariat grasmere's for christmas and haven't taken them off since!! ride in those while it's cold and wet

ariat terrains (don't make them anymore so I have to look after this pair

) with dublin half chaps for every day and for comps I have a rather lush but still at the painful stage pair of de niros

Ariat Grassmeres everyday & Ariat short boots (Devon Pro I think) & Ariat Close Contact chaps for competitions. Can you tell I'm an Ariat fan?

Konig Grandgesters - hate them, they were so expensive I haven't dared 'break them in' and they still kill my legs within 5 minutes of wearing them, even though I've had them for 2 years.

Dublin Valley boots, so comfy and warm. Good for winter hacking and schooling.

Ariat Heritage paddock boots with gaiters, good for everything and smart enough to compete in.

i have some dublin paddock boots, not sure which ones, but they're so comfy and warm! with some half chaps for general riding/schooling...i have some long boots but never had the chance to wear them!

Depends what I have at hand
Dubarrys
MH Supreme field boots
Toggi jodphur boots
Tredstep boots
Tredstep xtreme chaps
Toggi gaiters

I have a slight boot fetish

Mountain Horse Sportives for just about everything. I have a pair of Regent long boots for smart though. Used to have a pair of short boots and gaiters that I wore loads until one of them was stolen from the garage!!!!

I ask you who would steal one right footed old muddy and smelly size 4 paddock boot and a left gaiter that was also old and muddy???

I hate long boots and ride most of the time in Saxon or Loveson Joddy boots with chaps from Aldi (!).

If I am intending to do a dressage test or ridden show class then I will have my lesson that week in the same long boots I will wear for the show, (and probably have one hack out in them too), so that me and the horse don't feel "wrong" on show day.

I have no idea what make my long boots are but they aren't leather, and I have had them for at least 15 years!

Ariat short or long boots, although I've found the Coniston boots quite wide in the foot, so I worry about them getting snagged on the stirrups should I fall off. I don't get on with Ariat chaps though.

Tuffa Suffolks. Love them to death and even though they have quite chunky soles, they don't feel "wrong" in the stirrups. Like the earlier poster, i got mine for Christmas and have worn them every day since!

for hacking - I am too lazy to change my boots and normally just keep my wellies on in winter. In summer my mountain horse short boots and half chaps

For schooling or lessons - my mountain horse sportive high riders (very comfy)

For shows - my long leather boots that I had made to measure and are only allowed out on special occasions
