What Breed Do You Think She is?

About the tail, is it JUST arabs that do that? Just that my appaloosa x (not arab) does that quite a lot.

Not just arabs, all horses can and will do it given the right circumstances, along with that elevated, springy trot. It is just their way of saying "Hey, look at how I can move, I'm healthy and faster than you, go try and catch something else!" The foal in my signature doesn't have any pure bred arab in him after the Godolphin Arabian in 1724, but he does have tb in him about 6 generations back.

3Beasties,

Sorry, no definite idea about the breed, but given that she came from the Welsh borders then you can guarantee she'll have Welsh in her.
I have seen hundreds looking like her, cobs take a long time to mature and at 2 often look like that, by the time they are 6 or 7 they have bulked out enormously.

I would say she is the Send-Her-To-Me-Please breed. :)

She is SO cute. I agree Welsh B but I'm not great on my British pony breeds so who knows? But the tail flagging is definitely not just Arab - if I can successfully post pics, here is my TB mare -

And a gratuitous secondary pic just because I think she's so cute. :)

It's interesting how some of you have said Section B or C as aren't they quite small? She's 14.2hh now so will hopefully make over 15hh..........

I would say welsh section d because if shes 14.2hh now shes too big to be a B or C, and looking at the way she holds her tail up she def looks like a typical welsh d showing off, could poss have a bit of TB in her

As for the height thing ... mum could have been a Welsh section C standing at 14hh/14.1hh and dad a stunning 15.1 Arab stallion (or Arab x welsh Stallion) ..... ;) and Et Voila gorgeous stunning Lil mare who everyone wants to kidnap ;)

If mum had been Welsh and 14.1 she'd have been a D - C's are 13.2 and under.

I'd have said D x TBX to get the height.

My TB mare is very inclined to flag her tail!
