What breed/mix do you think??

Ok lol!

What it says on his passport is: Appaloosa x cob!!!

Now you see I find this very strange, having owned a cob, as I cannot for the life of me see any cob in him. TB certainly, possibly a bit of Arab at a stretch, but not cob!

Can see Welsh cob, which is quality, and has bit of feather-wonder what kind of cob?

I have a konik cross from poland , he is vert close coupled hardy and does the whole pawing the ground thing for food amongst other "tricks" , also very vocal. He is a gorgeous coffee dun colour

Whatever "mix" he is, he's pretty gorgeous anyway:)
BTW it is true that appys dont always show spots,we had a weird one at my old yard.It arrived in winter, really long coat with bits of black in it,it wasn't until my friend clipped her that we realised it was a spotty! The white hairs of the coat covered the black spots, summer coat was well spotty:)

Yep - you can get solid coated appaloosas - just to confuse things! Certain "spotties" coats can turn roan while they are young too.
And (something I only learnt recently) appaloosa has to be over a certain height (15hh?) anything smaller is a British Spotted Pony...
All very confusing!

Very confusing!

Thank you for all the lovely comments about Phoenix. Although I am curious about his breeding, it doesn't really matter as he is pretty perfect to me whatever his genes :-) xxx
