Just for fun, I thought I'd ask the question, what breed of horse are YOU?

Give reasons! Maybe physical characters like height muscles, build, hair amount/type/colour or character type, for instance you might be fiery (warmblood) or chilled out (cob)!

Might be a laugh! So what breed of horse are you? :)

I'll give my answer at some point, but I'd like to see some others first!

I would be a stereotypical big lazy hairy cob! I wouldn't do anything I didn't fancy doing, but if it was something I wanted I'd try my little heart out. Basically what I'm like in real life. I'd be grumpy on the ground as I like my own space and if someone tried to get me up if I was lying down they'd be lucky to escape my stable alive. I'd probably be sent to the knackers tbh!

I am my horse, a chesnut section d! .

I am ginger going blonde (she's chesnut with flaxen mane), we both tend toward carrying too much weight if not exercised enough, we both have an opinion about that which we will happily do. We both pretend to be brave but in fact are quite reserved and scared of the unknown.

Incidentally, I was also my dog, a golden cocker, again weighty and woosy!

Ginger solidarity maybe??lol

yellow dun highland pony short fat hairy and quietly determined to get my own way
Sharp as a tack but don't push my luck unless I know I am right or I feel very strongly about it

I think I'm a Highland or a similar native breed. Solid, brave and practical, not a flashy, slender looker. Also stubborn as a mule, highly opinionated and grumpy as hell when I want to be

This is absolutely me aswell, completely spot on!

Well my momma was a Thoroughbred but my daddy was something drafty and hairy that lived on fresh air and hard work I have the build, hair and physical strength of the draft but can be a worrier and highly strung like the Tb. My feet are also very flat. No lie.

I'm a mouse dun highland....sense of humour, loyal, loveable, optimistic, no make up needs.... Stubborn, bossy and always right! Love my tummy...

Me three. I'm functional and "useful" in my own way, but neither built for speed nor athleticism. You'd trust me in a crisis, but day to day I'm a stubborn, obnoxious git.

ID x TB (ISH) I'm basically my ex loan mare apart from she was fleabitten grey and i'd be chestnut! Tall, good strong long legs, slim but prone to getting chubby but never obese. Dominant and grumpy, the whole world knows about it when i don't like something. Most things are on my terms, love my food but not enough to bribe me into doing something against my will. Very suspicious of strangers and good judge of character. Once i trust you, extremely loyal, caring and protective (sometimes even over protective). Will show affection but generally not a very touchy feely type. Prone to bottling my feelings up and them letting them all go in a dramatical and OTT explosion but on day-to-day basis not a drama queen type at all, just occasional outbursts of emotions. Don't want to be on the bad side of me. Slightly bonkers and at times a bit out of control :)

ETA. reading it back, it makes me and my mare sound like a pair of very high maintenance grumpy nutters. no wonder i'm single :o

I'd probably be a Shetland. Short legs, big bum, out of control hair, grumpy demeanor, tendency to bite when annoyed, constantly snacking, inclined to break things, but basically lovable and regularly having my patience taken advantage of by small children. I'd probably be grey as well, because if I go within a mile of anything mucky, I will end up covered in it, even when I'm trying my best to stay clean! And I'd do mounted games, for the short bursts of exercise intermingled with the chance to snack when the rider was distracted.

I have recently downloaded an app to try to lose a bit of weight , along with 2 horsey friends. It analyses your weight etc and recommends a daily intake.

I seem to be the equivalent of a Shetland, in a starvation paddock with a muzzle on, while my leggy friends are getting hay nets, hard feed and who knows what.
I hope to emerge more of a Welsh B.........

This made me giggle. Especially the bit about biting people :)

I'm surprised we are a ' rare breed' ... Too popular but then if good enough for The Queen

Though I've said I am one I have never actually owned one. I love them though, gorgeous horses. One day I will have one :) I think while they are rare they do have a lot of admirers

Ha! I was just about to type something very similar but I'd only got as far as short, grumpy and lots of hair. The rest applies rather well to me though :D

I'd be a gypsy cob: about 15hands, curvy-but-not-fat, mostly white with lots of hair. I'd end up in a riding school as basically safe but sometimes naughty/cheeky/stubborn, and the kids would hate me because I'd dole out the odd nip and be lazy in the school, totally immune to their constant kicking. But, when I got a rider I liked I'd be that person's best friend and 'try my heart out' for them as the other cobperson upthread said!

A thoroughbred i think, im not skinny by any means but when i put on weight its only ever round my stomach area! Im a stress head, fussy eater, who has stupidly long injury prone legs and flat feet. Will either try my heart out or end up flapping around panicking because i didn't understand the question.
Im too tall and lanky to know where my feet are at all times and regularly end up tripping over thin air and requiring box rest!

Similar to the highland theme...I would need to be an Exmoor! Short but extremely strong for my size and opinionated with a tendency to be stubborn. I have a long mane which, if not brushed regularly, can become a bit unruly and I only need to look at a sweet treat and I put weight on! I am a "good doer" ie I can live on salad for a month and not drop condition :( But most importantly, I am loyal to the end once you have won my trust...just like Exmoors :D

All these highlands :) Maybe that implies highlands are very much 'people'

I'm a highland too. Stubborn, determined, not easily influenced, but not lazy by any means. Up for a challenge, tireless, fun with a quirky sense of humour. Love my food and have to watch my weight constantly. At my happiest outdoors, and don't mind a bit of mud or rain. Definitely not a prima Donna type. Go us highlands ...

Love this thread ....

A neurotic dark bay stress head TB. Tend to be flighty, run at the first sign of trouble. Give me confidence though and I'll try my very best for you.

I'd be a Hannoverian WB X Welsh Cob.

My Mum is from Hannover and my Dad was born in Wales- haha!

Also they're similiar shape wise to their horsey counterparts.

My Welsh character would shine through though, I'm always told I'm too much like my father :P

Apparently we both have a bit of attitude about us! Quoting my grandmother there.

Ax

This made me cackle! :D

I share a lot of traits with my North Swedish. Built on the small side, hardy and can tough it out in bad weather, willing to give most things a try, seemingly shy and quiet but can open up for a chosen few.
