What car do you all drive???

Got a few - Audi RS4 estate (amazing car, OH's usual ride), VW Polo GTi (mine and I love it, very economical for a GTi, goes like poo off a fork and cheap on tax at £120 for 180BHP car) and OH's toy which is a proper Land Rover Defender and does serious and I mean SERIOUS off roading, it's got winches, massive wheels/tyres and can go literally anywhere - it's our saviour in the snow and mud :D

Used to have a BMW - completely ***** in the wet etc. as it's rear-wheel drive and was pants and would never have another one, nor a Merc, Porsche etc. 4WD or 2FWD is the only way to go ;)

We've got a Fiesta each for day to day and a Terrano for towing - it worked out more economically, over 5 years, to have a small car each and only use the 4x4 to tow rather than use it as the second car.

The most recent Fiesta is a 1.6 Diesel Econetic. We're really happy with it - it drives nicely, has a decent finish, no road tax and is economical on fuel (OH gets about 60 MPG out of it which isn't as good as the published figures but they never are and he doesn't exactly drive in a manner conducive to to conserving fuel!). The boot's not large but we can fit 2 sets of tack in it which was one of the considerations when buying the 3rd car!

I have a Ford Focus, its 51 plate so not new. Very cheap to keep on the road day to day but tax is a killer for it as its 1.8TDI. Love it though, can fit all my horsey stuff in it, bales of hay and shaving - the lot! it takes a fair battering from me but its worth every penny i paid for it.

I used to have a V reg (2000) astra, also 1.7TD. that was also fair cheap and cheerful but the focus wins hands down on fuel consumption :)

A proper defender is my absolute dream ride! Is yours red? I will have some serious green eyed stuff going on if so :p

All I've ever wanted is a proper red landy and a piebald vanner pony lol! I will get there one day!! :D

We have a nissan navara for towing. Great off road too.
My car is a mercedes C220 amg, absolutely love it. Get 50mpg.

Very very old Mercedes estate! Love it for hauling all the horse/ dog feed, rugs, tack, etc around. Comfortable, solid and cost very little to buy, and, so far, very reliable.
Little, old black Ford Ka. My stealth car for work, since it blends in with the scuzzy places I tend to visit, and doesn't look worth nicking or vandalising!
I had Ford Fiesta before and it went on forever, until the rust rats ate too much of it away, so there was not enough metal to weld to and it was scrapped :(

I've just bought a mk1 Clio 1.9d for the stable run. Have named him Clifford, he was born in 1996 and has only covered 68,000 miles in his lifetime! A snatch at £250...

Other car is a Mercedes e280cdi called Ethel who is so pleased to be clean for the first time since I bought her.

Then we have Heather, a very ugly 1991 Ford Cargo 0813 7.5t lorry who doesn't get out much in this wet weather as she tends to sink in the mud!

Honda Civic EP3 Type R- my pride and joy

Civic Type r for speed? I see it as a nippy, nice looking runaround! Hoping to get an Evo next year but I'm holding out till I find a REALLY good one. Civic isn't particularly fast! Find it quite sluggish to drive. May supercharge it if I don't find a decent Evo.

It handle's like it's on rails and power:running cost is much better than an Evo. Plus an Evo has too many doors :p

Yes, the forum on your sticker :)

Couldn't help but notice you wanted an Evo, my boyfriend had one until a couple of months ago was great :)

Currently driving an older corsa, looking to upgrade to a Suzuki Swift later this year.

I have an astra 1.6 petrol, crap on fuel and has done 146000 so not going to last forever. Also have just bought a Nissan terrano for towing and yard. Fab vehicle. Had a discovery before this and hated it.

L200 animal love it but its gutsy, hubby said he will buy a wee runaround for me to get about town, I've been looking and got my eye on a smart car roaster the wee sports car thing, looks a lot of fun :-)

Subaru Impreza WRX wagon with prodrive kit and chipped :) usually only have my cars a year at most but had this one almost 6 now. Absolutely love it, amazing in snow, quick as you like and although maybe not as cool image wise as the saloons, it has all the room I need for my saddles and feed etc.

Hubby wants to change it due to fuel consumption (atrocious) and road tax (almost £300 a year) but I will not be parted from it, except maybe for a newer Legacy twin turbo.

I have a need for speed and cornering ability :o ;)

OP, I have a freelander which I am thinking of saying goodbye too as well - I work from home so my only mileage really is to the horse yard and back, around town shopping / socialising and off roading (fence judging) a couple of times a year. I can not justify the running costs but in my heart I worry re the snow and getting to my horse as it is quite a hilly area but my head says it really is not worth keeping just for a snowy couple of weeks a year.

I have been looking at other cars but just can not find anything I like thats up to the job and that I will not trash bumping along the farm track etc but now WelshD you have opened my eyes to the A class - didnt even consider Mercedes .. I think I may have to go and have a look at one - thank you.

I have a Mercedes A class, I really like it as it has a nice big square boot opening and so is very practical for bags of shavings - I can fit four in the back and one in the passenger seat! its tall too so you get a nice high seating position, also the back seats come clean out very easily so you can have it as a little van.

Its good on the field too and even in the snow and mud doesnt struggle

best of all it has no clutch pedal but a normal gear stick so its soooo easy to drive!

It spends its life as a workhorse, its always full - here it is full of chicken coops!

I have a ford fiesta titanium - top of the range automatic i treated myself to just over a year ago. Built to my specifications, had to trade my manual as i found driving it too difficult on my leg, this allows me the freedom i need...

Plus its so pretty!

I have a landy defender. Only had him since the beginning of November, so currently still trying to adapt to lack of creature comforts! Prior to my landy, I had a Hyundai Tucson, that has lots of gadgets and gizmos on it, but cost a fortune if anything went wrong (spent £2k on repairing the damn thing within 12 months, and the clutch and timing belt were on the way out as well, so decided to cut my losses and get a proper car!)
