So what colour cat haven't you had and would like?

I haven't had a ginger one yet. I would love a silver tabby too.

Had tabbies, black with bib and snow shoes, white and tortoiseshell, white with tabby markings, pure black (the naughtiest)

I have an orange, a tabby and a black and white - in fact they all have white. I'd love a pure black one, a tortie, maybe a blue one and a point coloured one. Realistically who knows as they'll be rescues!

All mine have been rescues / strays who have adopted me so I've not had much choice but over the years ...

1 x black fluffy (Boss cat. Rescue took him off the streets, we lived in the countryside and once summer turned up he reverted to feral and vanished!)

1 x ginger fluffy. (Girl which apparently is rare fur gingers)
1 x tabby
2 x black & white (brother & sister who were dumped at 3 weeks old in a bag by a canal and luckily found by a dog walker)
1 x black

And the only one still here is a tiny fluffy blue tortoiseshell who is probably the prettiest cat I've ever had. When she adopted me she was hanging out with a stray boy cat who looked like a British Blue. He wasn't interested in humans but he was stunning and a colour I love

But it'll be whatever the cattery needs to re-home!!

I don’t ‘do’ cats ….so we have two black sisters. They're supposed to be feral and were born in the neighbours hay shed but would happily live in my house / car / lorry if given the chance. My neighbours have a ginger cat but it doesn’t go very far. The black cats can often be seen exploring round and about but not planning on accommodating any more.

Always wanted a British Blue (but won’t pay that much for a cat).

Now have a tortoiseshell and she’s the grumpiest cat I’ve known!

I’ve had two tortoiseshell sisters that lived to 16 and 18. Adored them. Then I got a solid black kitten and a ginger as I’d always wanted a ginger. Despite being the most loving cat he went off and lived with an old lady and my black cat who was very loving died at only 8 a few months ago. In the meantime I got a second black kitten from a rescue now two who is a bit weird and I’m taking on the 15yr old yard cat also solid black.

I’d love another ginger but will probably go for black because they’re unpopular and harder to rehome.

We had a blue Abyssinian growing up (a rescue) and she was the most beautiful cat I’ve ever seen. She also has the best personality.

I'd love a leopard colour Bengal, but like someone above, I won't pay that for a cat. I'd also quite like a chimera cat, with one side ginger with an orange eye and the other side black with a blue eye.

The cat I most envied was in the local feed merchant. He was black on top with a pale cream undercoat if you brushed him against the lie of the coat. It was spectacular.

I've had a fluffy white girl and a silver tabby girl but I would quite like a big ginger boy. There's one at the farm, utterly fearless 😁

I'd love a bengal for the markings but wouldn't pay for one. All mine come from cats protection (apart from the black cat was given as a gift).

I’ve had every colour. The only one that has ever stayed about (yard cats but well looked after and tamed) has been my ginger and white. His brother stayed for years too but was hit by a car which was devastating.

I'd love a tortie, we had one when I was really little, but she died when I was only about five or six, I remember her, and I'd really love another one. Al my cats are/have been rescues, and always will be, I currently have a brown marble bengal and shes fierce and fabulous. I've also had a ginormous tabby maine coon with a white shirt front and paws, and a bruiser of a long haired ginger who was utterly fearless and a killing machine.

My current cats are mine/my family's cats number 14 + 15. (By the way, this far it's actually quite even between bought from rescues, bought from breeders, and more or less free cats which have found us.) My favourite cat colours are Tortoiseshell, Silver tabby, Tabby, and Blue/grey, with or without white. But I've already had cats in those colours, except that I haven't had one which is only Blue/grey, but I've had one which was White and Blue/grey, and now Essy which is a Blue Tortoiseshell and White, that's good enough for me.

Actually, when looking for my last two cats, even though I was also looking at cats of other colours, deep down I first really wanted to have a Tortoiseshell coloured cat again (have had 1 before, born back in 1993, so she's been gone since long). After that I had gotten Fröjdis 2022, and Cilla the moggy died, and I again started looking for a new cat 2023, I really had my heart set on a Blue Tortoiseshell, so now that I have Fröjdis and Essy, I suppose that I don't have any unfulfilled wishes left regarding cat colours.

I would love to have another Silver tabby one day, but perhaps I'll get something I haven't had before, maybe something else in a bit diluted colour like Essy, or a Tabby, or more Tortoiseshell... However, fate/something have this far had a regular habit of sending Black (2), and Black and White (3) cats mine/my family's way, so who knows.

My favourite cat was The Killer Burmese. He stole drying underwear, other people's food off their plates whilst they were eating it, hid in boat cabins and frightened the life out of the owners by jumping out with a dreadful screech when they got back aboard. Stalked mallards, half killed them and dragged them back aboard to finish the job. Still miss him.

If I made a list of all the colours i've had , i'd look like a serious crazy cat lady:eek:🤣
I think I would like a really nice Oriental or British lilac tortie , or either breed in cinnamon or cinnamon and white
Get a Burmese! Expensive but worth it for their outrageous behaviour, loyalty and absolute beauty, moving, sitting or wrapped up in their paws, fast asleep.

I've had one Ratty! My little lilac girl Lilly Lucia. The naughtiest kitten I have ever had, and one of the most loving as an adult. . I saved for a year to buy her when I was 18 and fell in love with the breed after visiting a Siamese rescue, where the owner was looking after two of them for a friend. One was blue and the other red, and they blew me away every bit as much as my Gremkitties. I vowed to have one, but was only working part time inbetween training. In those days buying a purebreed was very different as you know , and I ended going to an incredibly imposing house on the cresent in Bath and choosing my kitten there and then. I was a bit omg by the experience tbh, but the breeder was lovely, and I showed and won quite a few titles with my Lilly girl. She died of old age at 18 just before I moved to France. I have an album full of photos of her, and I think of her often . xx

Made a mistake before!
Have you seen the famouse British shorthair similar to this ?
She is a media star now and called Domiino . Absolutely incredible. Lives in Belgium I think

I'd almost forgotten that I actually saw pictures of Domiino not that long ago. On e.g. Instagram she's Queendomiino . For added coolness, the colour on her front legs have switched sides compared to her face.

By the way, have you seen that there's also chimeras in other colours than Black and Orange, here are some other examples I found when searching for Domiino

I actually saw pictures of at least 1, but I think it was 2, chimera kittens/adult cats when looking for a new cat before I bought Fröjdis. Although they looked very strikingly, I have to admit that they didn't make me feel that I wanted them anymore than I wanted any of the other cute, beautiful cats available, so I didn't bother enquiring about them.

Oh wow , thanks Finny!
I love Domiino, but that black tortie and white cat is incredible.
My oldest cat friend bred a stunning tortie Oriental called Harlequin , who was very like the little fluffy one above, and I was so gutted that I couldn't have her at the time

Had 2 white and black, 1 black and white tuxedo, 1 tabby-tortie, 1 long haired ginger and white, 1 long haired all black, and 1 long haired tortoiseshell and white.

I am biased, of course, but they’ve all been the most stunning cats. All different - some slender and lithe, some beefy and strong, others massive, and some dainty and feminine.

Much like horses, I don’t believe a good cat can be a bad colour! I’ve never had a tabby or a grey. I do have a very soft spot for all black cats, and gingers!

I've had 3 bengals, who whilst beautiful and hilarious to have around were very high maintenance and none made it past 12 years old. :(

I now have a horde of gingers (1 from the farm cat and the other 2 rescues) and i dont think i will have anything but ginger boys again!
