Madam currently has a black bridle cos its the only one that fits her, and its an Albion so nice and comfy for her. However, I am not a fan of black tack, but it does kinda look ok on her. Sooo... what colour tack does everyone use on a bright bay?!
i would go fo black...as i personally wouldnt like to see havanna on a bright bay...maybe you could get away wth a dark brown...BUT black is the winner
Yup, I also prefer brown on anything I am not a black tack fan although I do own a black saddle! Echo is quite a bright bay & he has a Kate Negus bridle in chestnut with a brass clincher browband & it really suits him.
No pics on this computer but I will get some. I think its very posh & only gets used for dressage & doesnt go out in the rain!!! TBH I think I would perhaps get her to 'earn' a KN bridle, you know what babies are like it would be pretty annoying to break it or chew it.
KN bridles are fab & they will make up the parts for an exact fit. I have a full size headpiece, pony cheeks & a cob noseband. Echo's pocket money ( prize money) covered about half of it
Flo's tack is a bit of a mixture, and IMO it all looks OK.
Her bridles are dark brown so are absolutely fine. Her dressage saddle is black which also looks OK (though even nicer on a grey). She has a JW jump saddle which is their dark purply sort of brown, and believe it or not its fine too.
The only colour which wouldn't be nice would be lighter brown tack.
I have black dressage tack as I think it looks smarter and brown jumping tack as I perfer brown, thankfully with frankies colour both colours suit him. I had black tack on my bright bay it looked alot smarter!
Think black just looks smarter on any horse and cleans up nicer with a shine and matches long boots unless you have brown long boots! I was a big brown fan but have changed sides, still have an orange saddle though so my opinion probs doesn't count
See I'm another vote for all brown! Both our boys are fairly bright bay:
And I prefer dark brown on them. Had a black synthetic dressage saddle on my boy for last few months and hated it - but that may be because it looked sily with a brown leather bridle and brown dressage girth!! Have just got a black leather saddle to try on big boy but as he is only just backed I'm pretty sure he will have grown out of it pretty quickly anyway!
