What do you call slices of hay?

I say slice but my husband who grew up on farms insists it's a wad! We are SW.

yup, wad here - south wales/herefordshire I started my horsey life on a farm too.

I do call it a slab sometimes; mum moans about it, she says it's too american!

Usually a sheet of hay for me. (Midlands, Ireland). But also a slice sometimes.
