Amazing how many unhappy current civil servants (and happy ex ones) there are on here. I too am an ex civil servant and I hated my job which involved moderating a boring IT forum, interviewing people about IT and oh, goodness knows what else, it was too boring to remember ....

I now run my own website and have two lovely horses because I can work flexible hours - a lot of hours, definitely, but hours which suit me and my horses.

I'm a chartered librarian and I manage and run a busy central library, I used to love my job, but the council politics are wearing me down, although it is more bearable now that it pays for George!

I work for http://www.ngms.eu.com/ in the Software Products and Support department. I produce the licences to enable customers to use the products and the physical media (CDs) and send them out. We deal with interesting people like NATO and also get UORs (Urgent Operational Requirements) from UK and some foreign Special Forces (oh, do I ever LURVE the SAS and the SBS -yum). If I tell you any more I'll have to kill you - it's all secret squirrel stuff

Over my gap year i've been working as a freelance rider. Have quite a few people now so i'm pretty much fully booked monday - friday, have a couple spaces left on mondays and wednesdays though. Just upped my prices as was charging next to nothing and couldn't live on it.

I clean part time at the moment but don't plan to stay doing it forever even though the job fits in really well, is really close to me and the hours suit.
I want to get into racing journalism again though as I miss it terribly

I am Jack of All Trades - meaning I have a job title, but what I do each day bears no resemblence to it whatsoever

Actually I work on special Finance projects for a large multi-national - it's really interesting, and keeps me out of trouble!
