What do you do when it rains?

Just some ideas needed. Off to the yard in a minute and its pouring with rain, but really wanted to do something with my boy. Don't really fancy riding, won't get much out of him, just turns bum to the rain. Will be wet on neck and legs so grooming not the best idea. What do you do with yours when it rains but you really want to do something. Could wash tail I suppose, been wanting to do that for ages and its half wet already.
Any other inspiration?
 
Ride because if I'd paid entries and it rained I wouldn't withdraw so BH has to learn to suck it up. He's very mistreated y'know :p :D
 
Put a baseball cap and a jumper on ;)

I ride, though not on my field as I'd only destroy it - so only ride if I can hack really. Failing that I usually do liberty work and trick training, but that's not something a lot of folk on here are keen on :D

You can naff off. :mad: ;) I'm kicking myself for not riding this morning when I was up there. I have two to do *wails* it's not faaaair!! And I need to put the stupid trailer away as it's still out as couldn't park it yesterday. Rubbish! And I didn't even do my boxes this morning so that's two to ride, two to muck out and the trailer to shove back into it's hole, all in the rain :(

Is your new fuzzy here yet?

Sucks boo yah to you for not getting up early this morning then (or not reading the forecast last night!) :p
Mind you it was only a quick 40 min whizz round as had to be ready to go out with DH at 9.30 :rolleyes:
Edited to add: I also mucked out & set yard all fair, so only need to bring in, feed & do rugs later :)

Coming in via parcel post on Tuesday :D shame is that I cannot get day off work, so youngest brother is 'seeing it in' in the early afternoon (asked me if he needs to undo bubblewrap :D ) and he has no idea on even how to put a headcollar on, so have given transport co the sp to put pony in the labelled stable & remove headcollar - and get bruv to sign paperwork (he's good at that!) and lock the gates to the yard when he goes........

Will do pics on Weds for you all on here :)
 
I was lucky, it was lovely and sunny up here! If it had been raining I would have put a rain sheet on and gone for a quick hack up the country lanes next to the yard where it's quite sheltered.

I was up, and I was at the yard before 9. But I spent too much time gossiping and not enough doing so I'm going to have one last cuppa and then go and do mine. Have just realised Nitty is naked so I actually won't be able to ride her as she is so wooly she takes days to dry once she gets soaked. So that's a bit of a bonus :)

Am waiting impatiently for photos, if they aren't here Wednesday I will be very upset :D
 
I rode it in this morning and got soaked to the skin BUT I had a really nice ride! The beast went really nicely and didn't seem to put off by it (despite being fully clipped!). I did have to hose him (and the tack :eek: ) off after though and leave him in for an hour to dry!
