what do you hate? horsey related of course!

SNOW!!! :(

Neglect of equines

The person who helped themselves to my bridle which I had for over 25 years and used on ponies/horses since departed. It turned up in a heap at another yard a few months ago after being missing for 2 years.

Waking up in your cosy bed and knowing you are going to be wet, freezing and dirty in a matter of minutes. Roll on springtime!

Mud
Mud fever
Rainscald
Filling nets and hay prickles
Lack of grass
Waking up before dawn. Hearing the weather smashing against my Windows and being warm with my electric blanket and sleeping husband.
Slippery roads and boggy bridleways
Mouldy hay
Chickens getting into stables and scattering my beautifully made beds and banks
Cleaning out the water drinkers when it's cold
Carrying water buckets
All day itching from hay lodged in the fibres of my clothes.

A lot of things to strongly dislike. Can't think of summer Hates because I'm just so thankful when it arrives!

I forgot to add that stupid little red or Amber triangle with an ! In it bringing me bad news of more.wind and rain snow and winter in general.

Thieves! Being broken into and having my Kampa Khazi portable loo stolen !! and the damage they cause.

Oh and mud!

Clipping, I hate hate hate clipping! particularly the bit where I pick little hairs out of my eyeballs and clothes for weeks after, even after covering myself up in waterproofs .
Mud
Mudfever
Snow
White legs and tails (I have 12 white legs and 3 white tails to look after atm!)
Frozen schools
Flooded schools
Cleaning tack after hunting !
Cracked, dry hands that put a builder's to shame :p
A lot of horsey people

Sure there are lots of other little things, luckily all of those are bearable and definitely outweighed by the good things 100 x over !

Mud, rain, wind, mud, trying to push full wheelbarrows across a muddy paddock, the look on their faces as if to say they are starving even though they are getting through a bale of hay a day between two of them (and more probably), lack of grass, not having a water tap at the stable and having to lug buckets and buckets of water down to the paddock, sensitive NF who refuses to walk through the thick mud outside his stable until he decides he is brave enough to chance it.
Fat little pony who thinks trashing fencing and destroying everything is a game, or the fact that once the other is turned out he makes a bee line for Roo's stable to see if there is any left over hay.
Not having the time to spend with them due to dark evenings / mornings.
Mud in the house from piles of muddy willies and a trail of hay from garage, through conservatory and all the way down to the paddock, uneaten hay that just gets trampled all over, list goes on and on and on and on and on!

My disgusting creature of a horse constantly being covered in poo/mud/slobber (Basically whatever he can get on himself to make him smell and look as bad as possible)

People going overboard with white at shows (White saddle cloth, white brushing/tendon boots, white overreach, white girth sleeve, white ear bonnet often with tassels) It looks cheap and tacky in my opinion, I just tend to stop at a white saddle cloth.

Going to sound like a grumpy old fart but other liveries!

People who think they know everything and tell you!
People who know ****** all but have bought a horse after riding a donkey on the beach once
People who turn up once in a blue moon to pat their horse and leave
People who "borrow" your stuff and either don't return it or use it constantly so they don't have to buy their own
People who decide to put up jumps in the school and don't take them down afterwards
People who don't poo pick when it's their turn
People who tell me what I should be doing with my horse as he's "wasted" otherwise
People who don't turn up for appointments on time
People who have dogs off the lead on the yard
People who have kids of their leads on the yard!!

Just people really!!

hate is such a strong word!!!
but I suppose if I had to say one thing I really dislike is must be inconsiderate fellow competitors and their "grooms"
things like going from trot to halt on the track in a warm up area. standing infront of the warmup jump while chatting. that sort of thing. enoying

Currently - mud and more mud , so much so you can't actually walk into the field without nearly going ar*e over t*t.

In general
- rude horses , ie having to walk by to get to muck heap and they lunge over door with teeth bearing.
- people that don't put money in the light box it use arena .... At least bring some change up the next day?
- poos left in the arena
- mother & child arguments loud enough the whole yard can hear
- stiff gates or gates that are broken , such a pain when you're out riding
- people that leave mountains on the muck heap

Hidden poo buried right at the base of the banks so you pretty much have to re-bank the whole stable - esp annoying when you think you are done and are having a final 'fluff', but no, you missed that last sneaky one and end up showering everything the bits of poo. Think that is the only one that consistently makes my blood boil.. not a fan of emptying hay nets into haybars and the ensuing snow storm of bits of hay (which you later find lodged in places hay REALLY shouldn't be), but there isn't the same level of rage involved! :p

In no particular order:

Wind

picking out hooves

people who think they know everything and are very keen to pass judgement on you or your horse but in reality have no clue.

People who don't tidy up after themselves and don't sweep up after they have picked out hooves (for 3 horses!) in a common area.

The tall, elegant, 30s something potential livery who had ridden over from who knows where in the wind and mud, parked her tall, elegant, TB in YO stable whilst being shown round our DIY yard, mostly populated by us dumpy neurotic middle aged women and our equally dumpy short equines, and had the audacity to smile at me in a friendly way.
