Post your prices of hay to make me feel a bit better about the crazy price hay is gonna get to this year!! Horses are so expensive!

Well at my yard hay is £3.50 a small bale...but only to the farm liveries as the farmer is so lovely, but there isn't enough to go around!!! Otherwise the cheapest I can find anywhere else is minimum £5/£6 a small bale.

Mines £18 for a large round bale if we order 2 or more but if only 1 we have to pay £5 delivery on top. Its lovely hay, I just hope his supplies last the winter! x

My hay is £3.50 per small bale, but my sister in Oxfordshire texted me yesterday to say she is paying £6 per small bale :eek::eek::eek: Thank god she only has a small pony for my niece to ride, so she uses about 3 bales of hay a month :D

£5.50 for cr*ppy meadow hay. £6.50 for nice seed hay. Small bales.
I'm Cambs/Beds border. If anyone knows a supplier who has it for less please PM me!!

In Feb I paid £3.50 a small bale, delivered and helped us to stack it. Very happy with that. We make our own hay for the sheep but are still eradicating ragwort so buy in the horses stuff. Making our own makes you appreciate the amount of work, skill and luck thats involved!

Both horses and sheep are currently wolfing down the stocks so suspect will need another load this winter; we dont have room to store it if we order it now.

£50 for a round bale :o

.. Thats cheap around here! Unless you are "in" with a hay supplier (eg been with them for years) you struggle to find any at all, ours is all reserved now thankgod :D

£45 for a big bale, and crap*y quality at that! and NOT happy about it!!!!!!!!! we are being charged £45 for straw, so I'm going over the shavings it's cheaper for me to buy in bulk...
