Hey all
Well i have had a pretty rubbish week this last week.
Last week i found out i may never be able to ride my fab horse again due to chronic laminitis, so i have been rather stressed and upset about that to say the least.
Plus i have had a rotten cold all week, which i still have.
Next i get a text from YO telling me my mare had to get out of her small paddock she has had the last week or so and go back out into the field as there is not enough land! (10 acres, with 2 cobs, 2 section A's and one big horse, you decide).
Now the vet advised she be kept on a bare paddock with bute for next 20 days and see how she gets on, plus heartbar shoes, which are now on. Vet just generally advised for me to manage it and avoid an acute attack as you would expect.
So i get in a panick thinking i cannot turn my mare out onto the summer paddock, not even for a few hours as not only does the grass need to be restricted but so does the movement.
Now the worst part was we had the perfect paddock which i was advised was for use when needs be, but it was trashed over winter, not by my horse as she was not allowed in there, 3 horses were kept in it for no other reason than laziness as its close to the stables.
Anyway, this has all resulted in me having to find a new yard in 48hrs, where they can give a small turnout area, as alot of yards i have known will offer with a sick horse.
New yard is basic but fantastic people, and the landowner has a laminitc so she is helping me immensely.
Thankfully it was on my last day holiday today so i managed to get transport and get her there today.
At first i think i was rather shocked by all this, especially as i thought myself and YO were not only good friends, but as i am a fairly longstanding livery who had a sick horse, i do not understand why they could not help me out.
If i had come to the yard and there had never been mention that we could use the small paddock for such things then ok, but the rules seemed to change often.
I am very sad but very glad to be out of there now given this attitude. At first i did not feel much about it, but now i do feel angry for how i have been treated
What would you think? Would you be upset by it all?
Sorry for the long rant *cookies* for getting this far
