What do you think caused this?

Just come across this vid on youtube and am pretty certain I haven't seen it posted on here before - apologies if it has been.

I'd be interested to know what people think caused this - lots of the comments seem to completely condemn the horse as dangerous - the judge apparently stopped the show to tell them that 'that horse knew exactly what it was doing and will do it again'.

IMHO, the horse went up, the rider caught its mouth and its hind legs slipped out from under it - no malice intended, the horse just lost its balance. From the way it walks and its complete lack of muscle I'd be almost certain it has some kind of physical problems.

So - what do you think? malicious lunatic or probably in pain?

A horse did this to me once |( he wasnt mine- I had borrowed him) -- I however bailed out the side door- as all I could think of was my saddle landing on my chest and hurting like nothing else!! The horse wasnt dangerous, it had just had enough with pony club camp and a round of SJ proved to be his breaking point!! Never did it again

I'd say something serious going on in his back end personally. Absolutely no muscle behind and builtup in front abnormally.

O forgot to say the horse has an odd back end, it looks like two different horses have been glued together, the front end looks much bigger/stronger then the back.

Pain. You're right, something just doesn't look right with it's back end, it seems to be stiff or atleast uneven, but not lame, She looked to be asking for trot when it went up with her.

I've got to say, definately not malicious, and tbh doesn't look much like stress either... I've seen horses go over backwards from fear and such, and there's always a build-up, jumping around, plunging, eyes rolling, semi rears ect... Where as this was walking and then suddenly up and over.

Something that troubles me is the strange movement of the head when the horse goes right in the air. I have seen a horse have seizures (I've witnessed two, both identical) and these seem to be triggered by him raising his head high over the stable wall. He stretches his head out, and all of a sudden he stiffens his neck and legs, and his head starts this strange jerking up and down movement, like the horse in the vid, and he rears and falls over backwards, in an almost uncontrolled way. Like I said, I have seen this twice, and it looks almost identical to what's happening in this video... So I'm thinking horse reared out of naughtiness, or resistance, triggering a seizure and falling over backwards? The thing is, the vets are baffled about the horse I know, they're saying maybe trapped nerve...

So yes, I'm certain it's something physical... Oh dear :S Poor thing..
