Stuck Millie on the Lunge last night and she is lame, not really badly but she definitely isn't happy.

See what you think...........
Walking

Trotting

Do you think she has just pulled something or knocked herself?

I haven't got the vet out yet, thought I would give her a few days out in the field first and see if she improves. Do you thinks that's the right thing to do?

(Sorry the videos aren't great, I was trying to stop myself laughing as Little Jockey found the whole concept of walking/trotting in a straight line very difficult to grasp

I thought it was more the nearside hind

she isn't nodding her head which she would do if it was the fore but she does look fairly stiff through her nearside hock. Could be a slip, kick or knock of some sort in the field. Is there any heat or swelling anywhere?

Yep It's the hind, she looks a bit stiff on both sides but I think she is definitely worse on the near side.

We took her XC schooling on Sunday so she probably has knocked or strained herself.

It's just so worrying as she has never been lame before

She definitely looks as though she is not happy bending the hock joint.Have you tried cold hosing it and rubbing some arnica gel/cream in there. It is good for bruising and will help it to heal.Failing her being sound though in a day or so I would call your vet in for further investigations as there are lots of little bones in the hock.

It's very slight, I'd prefer to see her trotted on a hard surface....but i'd field rest for a few days and if no improvement get the vet to have a look. Good luck.

Looks like right hind hamstring, she's not quite extending through it

My horse had this injury, we had physio out and did 6 weeks of hacking with bit of trot. Hope she is ok

She's looked the same on both reins when I lunged her on Monday, yesterday she looked worse on the near side but I didn't have her on the lunge.

Ah ok, this is very similar to how Josie looked when she di her suspensory. But she was incredibly worse with her injured leg on the outside of the circle, ie the left rein for her.
