we have an ifor Williams 505, towing just Donovan, a 13.2 hh welsh. At the moment we are using a discovery which obviously no problem, but its a company car, that is getting old, and I have a feeling we are going to be looking for a new one! My car is a renault scenic. Would that be ok to tow with?

No longer have my trailer but still have my Trooper til it dies, it made light work of my old heavy rice with 2 horses on it, over hill and dale, down motorway and dual carriageway, and not hellishly expensive (for that sort of vehicle) to run

frontera 2.2 dti, pulls like a train but i wouldn't recommend a vauxhall to anyone unless you have a friendly cheap mechanic on hand lol parts are never cheap:rolleyes:

Toyota Rav4 2.2D - only just started towing but it seems to cope with Ifor 505 and my 560kg ginger swamp monster on our hills. Also pretty economical for day to day use thankfully

I tow with a car, it's a Mercedes c180 and I tow a 16'2 in an ifor 506. Tows really well and I prefer it to my previous jeep and 510 set up.

I have an Ifor 510 and I tow with a Discovery 3, my mare is 16.1hh and a warmblood x welsh. I must admit its a brilliant car, tows with no problems at all. The 4 x 4 we had before was a LWB Pajero and it did struggle when going up a hill.

I tow my 505 with either 16.2 TB or 11.2 welshy in with my company car. It's a 2.2L 180bhp Mazda 6 Sport estate. It tows brilliantly with decent fuel economy. Love it!!

Hubby has just paid a deposit on a mitsubishi L200 3lt v6 petrol but converted to lpg. Can't wait to see how it tows

I don't think you will be disappointed. We had a diesel L200 and it towed out 505 with one or two horses in it absolutely fabulously. Could hardly feel you had anything on the back. And when OH followed the hunt in it, going along tracks and fields etc it never put a foot (tyre) wrong.

we now have a Jeep Grand Cherokee but are hoping to go back to an L200 next year.

I have an old classic Range Rover I use and its amazing dont even notice trailer on to be honest but if its being used i used my Audi estate diesel no hassle either way and cheap to run its the quattro one so its 4 wheel drive which is the best one in my opinion

One correction on the Xtrail the higher 173 hp according to books specs has a max tow weight of 2200kgs :)

Reading straight off our book from the car manual :) The rest are perfectly spot on :)

Not that it matters to me too much havent went over 2000kgs on the normal spec :D
