Tend to be "comfy" but practical. Well Jods, and then a t-shirt, fleece/hoody or coat depending on weather. I am not riding in a riding jacket - it's a snow boarding jacket but it's sooooo warm on winter days!

Because I run a livery yard, I need to look smart while I'm working and riding, sooo, Aigle wellies for mucking out and doing yard work, Dubarry's for teaching and Brogini long boots for riding, with smart grey, denim or brown breeches, and then polo/rugby shirts with a gilet, or my tweed or goose down coats, plus my faithful neck warmer and ear warmers! I can't cope without a neck warmer, and if I don't have an ear warmer on in winter I get blinding headaches.

Never bother with make up though... can't be arsed at 4am!

Johdpurs or thermal leggings!
Often with a polo shirt, if short sleeve i wear a long white sleeve top underneath, then my Mary king hoody over top with a body warmer!
Desptie leaving all ponio's things on the yard, when i arrive i seem to still look like im moving house:rolleyes: Always brings extra coats<mum makes me! gloves and ear warmer and i wear a black snood while riding!:D
However..im guilty too, i do often wear make up to the yard, but i wear make-up all the time at weekends just don't really bother for school, but the orange and eyes stuck together look just dont work for me! sometimes i just moisterise with mascara but the other week i knew someone was coming to take photos so i put on a fair bit of make up and tried my best to match my ponio!

Summer - jeans, trainers and a long sleeved shirt with a baseball cap - I burn to a crisp in the sun in seconds. And yes I ride in that aswell ...

Winter - thermals, jods, padded waterproof over trousers, knee high socks, thermal socks, thick fleecey boots or wellies. On top - termal long sleeved top, polo neck, thin fleece, jumper, microfibre jacket, big jacket, neck warmer, earmuffs, gloves and always aa hat of some description that covers my ears. When I ride I add a body protector to the mix as it is compulsory for my job.

Depends on the time of the year/where i am/what i'm doing!

This is me schooling Major the other day, generally on the yard i would wear wellies and a big coat on top of this!

And a summery one!

Joggers usually, tucked into long socks, then wellies. Then long sleeved top and hoodie, or short sleeved top and coat. I wear my woolen hat band to keep my ears warm. I am usually in make up, as I go to the yard after work.

In winter its my thermal boots, denim jods or stretchy jods and millions of hoodies and my ski coat or my Mark Todd coat.

In summer i tend to just wear my riding boots as there is not mud to ruin them and the same jods but just a hoodie ( no matter the weather im always cold) and a vest.

I also wear gillets all year round- love all mine!

I am with poster above my son says I look like the scruffy horse woman hobo of the town:eek, however when I am out hunting or competing or at a ride out I do smarten up.

I have nine to do at the moment on my own so faffing about worrying what I look like is reallly not viable.

I live in tracky bottoms, tights underneath when really cold and hoodies, ski jacket on top. Never without my fleecy headband/ear warmers either. My hairs that long I look like a dinosaur with a wooly hat on as it's always tied up! Wear either my ww long mucker boots or dubarrys depending on mud situation!

In the summer I wear tracky bottoms and vest tops and normally a baseball cap. Always in skate shoes too. If in the field I'll put shorts on (only coz horses are at home, so no one sees me!).

Mostly ride in jeans but occasionally wear jean breeches with long boots or ariats and chaps and generally a body warmer.

I normally check horses at night in my pjs with a dressing gown on in winter!

I love matchy matchy and am lucky enough to own a few pairs of posh breeches/tops, I love Pikeur, Cavallo, Eurostar and carefully select my outfit before going to the yard. My friend and I laugh because our yard is so quiet, only 3 horses and the YO is non horsey so hasn't a clue what label we have on BUT... A few years ago I only owned 2 pairs of breeches and rode in wellies or a pair of para boots, the reason I 'dress up' now is because I lost 5 stone in weight (on purpose) and discovered clothes! Still not interested in dresses and what not, just breeches and gillets, but I reward myself every so often for keeping the weight off by having something nice to wear, mostly second hand off ebay, can't afford a brand new pair of Pikeurs every 3 months! To me its important that I feel good about my appearance because I lost the weight so that I would be able to ride my friends amazing horse, she is so petite that I'd have squished the poor thing prior to the weight loss. I also do the make up thing after years of wearing none at all, ever.

I always try to look neat, it's a habit I've been trying to develop!

Summer time, such as now is always a pair of jods, and a long sleeved cotton shirt. When the temperature is over 35 these shirts keep me coolest :D

Winter is again jods, long sleeved shirt and vest, or a rugby top, with my awesome waterproof gortex jacket. I get pretty warm when riding so like to be able to peel off layers as warm up :p

Beige stretch jeans with jod boots and half chaps, the shirt is dependent on who I am riding. If its the pony I will just wear a singlet but if it's my boy I'll wear my bright red polo - to warn people we are coming! When I had him amongst the farm land many summers ago I'd take him riding at half 5 am wearing shorts and a singlet. By the time we finished our ride an hour later we were both dripping in sweat and the sun was only just rising

It's hardly ever that cold in SA that I resort to wearing something "warm". I usually ride in johds, a t-shirt and long dressage boots. I wear make up to shows (though it's only the bare minimum. Usually just lipgloss and eyeliner)

Here's basically what I look like in my riding attire:

(sorry this photie is off me playing around in a halter with my nutter - we usually do dressage, i swear:D)

"WHY TF would someone wear makeup to go riding? "

My best friend (who lives near my yard) was out for a hack (wearing no makeup) and bumped into Robbie Williams having a smoke outside the recording studios nearby. For about 6 weeks after that, every single female I knew hacked out in makeup 'just in case'! And yes, that
Included me!!
