What does everyone feed and why?

I took my mare off her basic vits and mins (equivite original) as I was considering changing it and I’d finished the tub but hadn’t made a decision yet what to change too. Her feet started chipping off after a short time without it so quickly put her back on it and her feet stopped chipping. That was in summer when grass was better so I will keep her on something.

The goodooer is on
Hifi molasses free
Linseed (for skin not weight)
Equivite original
Protexin gut balancer
Aloe Vera.

The big one gets the same but has soaked grass nuts and speedibeet also.

Most if them gat a handful of chop.

Boy cob also gets some oats cos he is flat as a pancake without them.

Brood mare gets a bucket ful including sure grow, stud cubes, linseed and conditioning cubes but she is pregnant and drops weight anyway at the drop of a hat- the cobs drool when they see her bucket and contemplate why life isnt fair

My ID is on a diet. He gets soaked hay, dengie ulser lite, spillers lite and lean and his supplements which are magnesium, msm, aloe Vera and salt.

I didn't know that! Its no longer a brand I even consider tbh. Just looked though and i love that it conatains no molasses or alfalfa. Wondering if it would be any good to my fat pony.
Have you used it?
yes I'm about 3 weeks in with it.
Trying to eek out hay so I started to give morning before riding and eve so I could hay later 1lb of equibeet and about a small stubbs scoop of moli light.

they are fatter rather than thinner. Tried honey chop straw last year and they were not very keen. They seem delighted with my current offering.
Reasonably cost effective so we are all pretty happy.

Lammi 20 year old mare
2kgs Re-Lite
1 1/2kgs Turmash
ACV
MSM
Hay 2x daily, will be turned out with a grazing muzzle as soon as her new rug arrives!

😢 I posted on this 5 years ago when M was still alive and still full of beans. I miss him.

Nowadays the PSSM mare is out of work (I gave up) so only gets vitamin E as a supplement. The others get grass/hay and some soaked hay cobs with chaff in a bucket. I feed pony nuts too 😁 If they drop weight they get more hay. I like owning easy ones.

The Arab's get 1 feed a day emerald grass tastic or graze on unmolassed sugar beet, micronised linseed if they need it.

Tried loads of other complete feeds and some sent them nuts so they have a straight basic diet, it works for us they are good doers anyway so don't get loads.

They are on quite a few supplements now they are older.

Summer

Baileys lo cal balancer and hifi light with water, mag ox, lo salt and 100g of linseed meal for his coat.

Out 24/7 unless we have an outing.

Winter

Baileys lo cal balancer
Readigrass
Alfalfa/grass/beetpulp pellets mixed together and soaked 1/3 to 1/2 of a scoop of this a day
Linseed/mag ox/lo salt

10kg of hay at night and grazing during the day I only have to give hay round about end of Feb/beg of March as I have a decent amount of grazing and it’s not a lot he’s getting out in the field I’d rather he scavenged but I don’t want him out there too hungry all day.

My two good doer girls get
Hi if lite
Fibre nuts
Vitamin and minerals
The older one gets equine America glucosamine
And mint to make it taste yummy!
They only get a very small handful of nuts and one gets half and one gets full Harold more small scoop of chaff
I feed them this to get the supplements into them.
Out 24/7 with correct amount of hay for body weight

Mollichaff lite + speedibeet - low in sugar, inexpensive base for supplements.

Vit/min powder for all.

In work ponies except Shetland get as many oats as needed so they have enough energy. Somewhere between a mug and a mug and a half a day in winter. Shetland has her EMS supplement instead.

Babies get protein added.

Straw/hay mix ad lib as the grass has gone now.

We have a 15.3h cob, light-medium work.
I've done lots of reading/researching over these past few months. He can be a bit fizzy and was on top spec lite balancer but our instructor advised us to stop this to try and overcome his fizziness.

Currently feeding the following:

Speedi-beet
Equine answers 365 complete vits & mins
Tsp salt
Honeychop lite & healthy

He has this twice a day, loves it and looks good with a lovely shiny coat
Did cutting out the Topspec help?

Fussy tb prone to lose weight

Haylage and hay. He gets a bit obsessed with the haylage so he gets hay to keep him nibbling when it runs out out.

Agrobs musli because it's his favourite food ever and keeps him eating and good ingredients.
Grasstastic to stretch out the musli so I'm not bankrupted.
Linseed for the EFAs but he'll only eat a little.
Copra for calories, protein
Sugarbeet for fibre, liquid and balances out the phosphorus in the copra. Long soak as it's cheaper.

Then minerals missing in grazing/hay but not supplied by feed Zinc, Copper, selenium and magnesium.
Vit e in winter
Yeasaac for his gut
A joint supplement currently Equicure flex which has boswellia and glm as well as the usual.
