When I read the description of your horse it is a mirror image of the problems I have with mine, also bought to BSJA. Someone earlier recommended professional help and I have to say thats what I thought but from my experience change professional to sympathetic, it doesn't help to have professionals tell you ' its a backward thinker, cut your losses and get rid or another favourite is you don't want this one buy one of mine'. My feeling is that my boy lacks confidence and I have completely changed his ridden work to include lots of fun things and he has become far better. He
was in a professional yard and became jumping fatigued, and they were really hard on him when he was ' naughty' but anyone who knows anything about cruising / animo offsping knows you will never win by bullying them, they fight back harder. Good luck
