For the past few months Charlie has been fed once a day, he get's 1 Stubbs scoop of Build up cubes And one of Alfa A (I think the Alfa A is making him silly).

I think he is looking well and doesn't need to put anymore condition on - Just topline now. He has also moved to better grazing so I think it's time to change his feed.

He ridden 5 times a week, mixture of hacking, jumping and schooling.

I was thinking of just feeding him some basic chaff with Horse and pony cubes but What would you feed him?

I don't want him to loose the weight that I have spent so long building up but I also don't want to feed more then he needs.

I am now feeding Zoomy the triple crown Equipower base feed with half a scoop of hi-fi and I have found it to be excellent.

It is very economical and gives them all the vits and mins they need. I am now going to start Monty on it too as he is currently on topspec balancer, he is doing really well on it but it is bloody expensive!

If he is a good doer, plenty of grass and hay, then probably just a balancer! He will then be getting all he needs nutritionally it will also sustain his performance without making him silly, the feedlines are good for advice

He's not a good doer which is the problem I have, he is prone to weight loss

but at the moment he doesn't need to put any more weight on, he just needs to maintain his weight.

Oh boo! Maybe ask if they can order it in for you. I agree with other posters that a balancer is probably a really good idea since then you can add something else in the Winter to top it up.

They're just so expensive! I think the Saracen one is cheaper than some. Monty found it really yummy too!

If he is doing well on the feed why change it? You could cut it by half, and monitor his weight that way. If he starts to lose condition you can easily increase his feed, as you know this is a successful feed for him.

Much easier than trying to find another feed, introducing gradually, finding it doesn't work etc etc.

i feed mt 2 tbs completely differently poor are poor doers in winter, but both seem to be doing really well this summer.

they have adlib hay in there field and good grass, the boy has 1 stubb scoop of fibergy and 1/2 stubb scoop of slim and healthy whereas my girl has 1 stubb scoop of fibergy and and 1/2 stubb scoop of power and performance. they both have 2 scoops of pink powder and garlic all this split in to 2 feeds a day.

i would probably drop what your feeding down and add vit+min supplement to cover and just watch him and change his diet accordingly
