What footwear do you ride in?

Skint, how can you get into hunters if you can't get into long riding boots? I can't get hunters over my calves but mountain horse long boots and ariat long boots fit fine.

Ariat terrains (or similar) and chaps, or MT long boots, usually.

Unless I'm bareback, in which case anything is fair game :p

I ride in mountain horse protective short boots if it is hot but I prefer long boots. I have mountain horse sportives for everyday, bromonts or regents for best and a pair of grassmeres that currently don't see the horse they are for taking the trade stand to shows, but they will be everyday riding boots eventually.

I used to ride in jodhpur boots & chaps, but treated myself to some winter Mountain Horse long boots (makes more sense with breeches anyway!!) and fell so in love with them that I ended up buying myself a summer pair of MH long boots too. Much, much, much prefer long boots to short ones and not sure why I made myself resist for so long!
I have some Ariat Bromonts for competitions too, gorgeous boots.

I have a pair of ancient Elite jodhpur boots that I adore. Unfortunately they are coming to the end of their life - I have looked everywhere for a replacement and can't seem to find anything! Does anyone know if they are still making them?

For everyday riding I have Saxon joddy boots and Bridleways Chaps, very comfy and do the job.

For shows etc, I have a lush pair of Treadstep Joddy boots and Gaiters. I funs these fit me better than long boots, I have skinny ankles and muscley calfs (Calves?!) You know what I mean :)

I don't think I've ridden in anything but my Grasmeres since I bought them! Might have worn wellies once, when it was a wet day and I forgot the Ariats, but otherwise, no other boot gives me the support I need.

I like to have proper ankle support and will only ride in long boots designed for riding in.

I'm using the Tuffa Derby Boots at home, they're smart enough for clinics and lessons and comfortable enough for everyday use. I have Yard boots, which are not worn for riding in, I swap between them.

You probably could ride in the boots you've pictured OP, but I wouldn't. They give too "clunky" a feel, can't apply the aids as clearly as I'd like to. Plenty of people do though.

I did have some ankle boots but they looked ridiculous without chaps and chaps were just really uncomfortable for me :o so I looked into longer boots. I have some long, black showing boots but they're not suitable for everyday riding

Another here who rides in these boots. I wear them to the yard, muck out etc, then hop on board and ride. Never had any issues with wearing them to ride. :)

I did got to Robinsons to try and get some jod boot and chaps but the assistant and I came to the conclusion that jod boots werent designed with my odd shaped foot in mind :( I did pick up a pair of justtogs equileather long boot though for competitions (when i finally get to some!)

Parachute - I think they are about £40 . Mine are on their second winter, but will need replacing for the next winter as the velcro straps are loosing their stickiness. I love them though :)
