Okay, grim subject and I don't want to discuss why I need to know please as it could cause distress.
But, if a horse is sold and subsequently sent for slaughter, what happens to the passport? Do the passport agency have to be informed, or is the passport just thrown away, and no record kept?
Or would the slaughterhouse have to keep the passport for their own records? Would it be possible to find out if a particularly horse passed through their hands?
I believe there are only a handful of places horses can be sent for slaughter, am I right?
I politely ask anyone answering please not to speculate as to why I'm asking and to please be sensitive in your replies. Thankyou.
