What have you/are you spending your sunday doing?:-)

I was a good wife and got up early to get dinner in the slow cooker for tonight.

Was meant to be hiring a local arena to go play showjumping with my youngster, to make up for our first xc training session being cancelled yesterday :( But owner of arena text this morning to say arena to wet after even more rain last night! So sick of rain spoiling my fun!

In the end my friend boxed over and we went out for a long hack and made do with trotting through all the huge puddles as xc practise! :) so ended up having a lovely afternoon and am now about to dish up lamb with port and cranberries. Yum! X

Getting more and more nervous about competing for the first time on 4 years and also on a horse I had never ridden away from home before. He was a star and I rode like a muppet

Long lined my new mare then took her for a walk in traffic. Met some motorbike scrambler folk who were very polite and said she was cool! Met a lot of traffic on the road as well and she was totally fine :D

I took my mare our for her first hack today with some of the other girls at the yard. She was good as gold until she decided that she didn't like walking behind one of the other mares and decided to do a lovely collected trotting dance in perfect outline in the middle of the road . Unfortunately there was a delightful lady driving towards us who instead of looking at where she was driving was looking behind at the other horses. So despite me signalling to her to stop she didn't see us until she was about a metre away where she braked so hard the front of her car scraped the road scaring the hell out of Dizzy who then reared and decided her most convenient exit was to jump the car bonnet into the hedge and on the bank, I had no idea that horses could fit in such a small gap! I rode it out and Dizzy calmed down immediately. I was all prepared to make sure the woman was also ok as it must of been terrifying for her but she sped off as fast as she possibly could. A few of the other cars drove past very carefully and a couple asked us if we were ok, which I thought was very nice of them.
So today was productive in its own special way I learnt more about my new horse and myself :)
Dizzy is fine btw no lumps, bumps or cuts and she was sound.
Not going to think about the what ifs!

I went to the "horse health and motion" exhibition / talk today....didnt stay the whole day though as I was a bit disappointed not to mention very cold!

I then went to play games with my boy in his field, trying the leg raising trick, sooo pleased with him as it was our first time and he was copying....albeit the opposite leg to the one I tapped some of the time haha.

Tomorrow I shall have a nice hack then go and collect my Isuzu Trooper YIPPEE...

Sorry, you didnt ask about tomorrow haha x

I worked all day at riding school next to my house, running around being receptionist :P then came home to a massive roast. Then snuggles with OH in front of the tv before he goes off to Essex for the week :)

I got up at 6.30am, went to the yard, mucked my two out and chucked the youngster out with a friends mini shetland. Went for a hack on the nappy TB mare - did a different route and no napping at all, so very very happy! Chucked her out when I got back, then went to a tack sale which was so crowded I couldn't actually see any of the stalls, so left that. Did the weekly shop, went to the gym, long-reined the youngster for 15 minutes (went on the road for about 100metres as well today!), poo picked put to bed the horses, cooked Sunday dinner (including roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding!), got a bit drunk on too much wine - but it's the anniversary of Rebel being PTS last year, so for once I'm allowed to get drunk!! Now watching Countryfile, but having problems focussing after too much wine!!

Put up electric fence in the orchard with the dogs chasing the rabbits around us.... then had to rescue JR terrier who had gone inside the Cambridge rolls after the rabbit and then got stuck. OH had to jack up cambridge rolls so we could line up each section to get the dog out... and the rabbit got away!!

Cleaned tack.went to do a hunter trial and had about 10 refusals:mad:but 1.5 jumps and only 4th time out on her crosscountry:Ddidnt relies the jumps were going to be that big!!then coming back in a freezing lorry and now watching tv!!!

it's been a fantastic day, so foggy this morning it was lovely and quiet down the farm:) sorted fencing and moved ponies/horses around into their winter paddocks. Home for a quick bath and tidy up and off to a hog roast at the house of someone i work for. Huge marquee and lots of tweed clad bodies all recovering from the wedding the day before including james blunt who is surprisingly tiny and andrew fox-pitt who is unsurprisingly the image of his brother:eek: neither were in tweed btw;) home at 4 and time for an afternoon nap:D bloomin perfick:D

Went for a hack this morning, in a gorgeous place. Will definitely being using that bridlepath more often, and my horse worked beautifully, and then helped move one of our field shelters.

It's been a great day :)

Chucked the pony out and waited around while it took my 9 year old almost and hour to muck out her pony's stable. Went home and had some soup to warm up and attempted to write my project for college (gave up quite quickly on that idea!) Went back to the yard and got my horse in for a lesson, she was great and worked really nicely, then we popped a few jumps. Had one hairy moment where she ran out at one of the fences, wobbled a bit but managed to right myself and we carried on. Finished up doing a pretty wide oxer about 3ft. I've lost my confidence with my jumping so I was really pleased with her and with myself for doing it and I didn't actually feel nervous at all when it came to it. She has an amazing jump and so much scope so looking forward to doing some more! Then gave her a lovely brush and pamper while watching my friends and my nutty 9 year old jump in the school, my daughter did great and was flying over some 2 ft 6 fences which is quite big for her pony (not for her though she has no fear at all!) Home for a nice casserole, cider, and to see the hubby :)
