What have you done today ?

Well I got dumped by my mare on a hack and watched her merrily gallop home including jumping a five foot ditch! May I add this is the first time I have come off her on a hack in 8 years! She is also a 'cob' but is the craziest cob I have ever met and 18 years old! :) hehe

Nothing horsey! Took car for it's MOT which it failed, cheered myself up by buying some stuff I didn't need like expensive candles and shampoo then went for lunch at a nice bar. Sat outside being smug as the sun was out, however that will learn us as it was freezing and I'm still warming up! Brrrrrrrrrrr, glasette of wine was nice though!

Wasted the entire morning due to unscheduled hangover (work do last night)!

Hacking out alone is a work in progress at the moment, set back by our move to a new yard. Today's plan was a wander down the track and back alone, but my absolutely lovely YO came on foot and even offered to run bits so I could trot, and we ended up staying out for nearly an hour - the noble steed was an absolute superstar, so the next step is going out without anyone on the ground. A walk around the village with someone on foot isn't the most impressive achievement ever, but we've taken a lovely step forward with no disasters and I'm still smiling from ear to ear!

Hey, well done you, I know that little achievements so we think are a big deal, and when it works out well and you and your horse enjoyed it then its great, so thats a big step forward and you should be proud of yourself and have every right to be smiling, onwards and upwards :)

Horse has been out all day naked for the first time in yonks!
I couldn't bring myself to ride him as he spent the whole day in pure bliss, sun bathing, rolling and dozing in the sun.

There was a sort of impromptu social gathering at my house - my brother had friends over last night ("band practise") so between the lads who didn't wake up until afternoon and the ones who somehow ended up at our house () I spent the day in the kitchen drinking tea with a bunch of lads.

Though I was fairly active, I did 3 hours of dance this morning (with lifts  ) and then this evening I went for a walk followed by a jog.

Being the boring person I am, I'm staying home with the folks tonight while my sister goes to a friend and my brother to a house party.

Well I certainly don't need to go to the gym. Yesterday had hay delivery and lorry load of fence & rail. So today & tomorrow fencing new paddock area in the field. Case of too many cooks though  Men aaaarrrgghh!!! Field slightly farrowed and a bit hilly, so obviously I thought you follow the ground level. Big disagreement so let the men get on with it.... needless to say it looked crap. Start all over as I suggested to now be told "admit you got it wrong, it now looks much better. Silence is a virtue. Only 100 or so more posts tomorrow.

My day was very much like the OP! Had a good lesson first and then went out for a lovely hack with my friend. Unbroken blue skies - it must have been 18 degrees out there!! No coat necessary! We had a really lovely ride (although we did meet a large group of walkers that Hugo thought was some sort of scary dragon coming at him!) but continued on safe and sound :D

Then cleaned tack (sorely needed, I'm afraid!) and came home to watch the match - REEESUUUULT! :D

I, too hope this is the beginning of a wonderful spring and a long summer (with lots of rain when we need it! ;) ) - fingers crossed!

Lovely and sunny and warm where I am too so turned the boy out naked to have a good roll. Went for a lovely long hack, he even went past a man chopping down a tree with a chainsaw (such a good boy) then gave him a nice bath and groom in case anyone rings to come and try him :)

Had a brilliant day, after a winter of lots of work for me, (mum of 3 children & 4 ponies)and not much riding. We had Mounted games practice in the morning, jumping in the afternoon (different ponies) followed by a lovely hack, where I actually got to ride!

I spent most the day at work although at least the shop was warm for the first time in ages!

Horse was out naked again today, so glad the fields were dry as meant she was clean (mostly) when I came home.

Got home just before 5.30 & got the horse tacked up before hoping on and having a quite productive walk & trot schooling session before the light dropped too much :) spring-time is coming, spring-time is coming!! :D :D

Got to the yard nowhere near as early as Miss Bean, who was just getting back from a reportedly brilliant hack as I rolled up :o Was going to throw boyo straight out then muck out and head home to a huge list of jobs but got waylaid and inspired by the sun and took him in the school for just a little while. We haven't jumped in quite a while but as have been doing a fair bit of polework and focus on canter lately, put a tiny wee cross pole up and he was popping it so well indeed that I'm still smiling now (sure it won't last...)! Think the new grass may be on my side atm in that respect... Hung out with boyo and Miss Bean's boy in the field for a bit - naked again (them, not me!) - and now have far too many heart-attack exciting pictures of them eating grass. It's a rollercoaster of an album.

Otherwise spent the arvo behaving like a grown up with bank appt (urgh but good), then down to the Cotswolds with OH in his beloved Lotus, glass of wine and cheese in The Plough at Donnington and back up to finish putting boyo to bed (after my mum kindly got him in while I was off gallivanting :o) - and out to favourite restaurant at 9 for a late dinner. Just a brilliant day! :D

I went with a friend and hired the arena at Kelsall Hill. It was all set up for arena eventing. We had an absolutely brilliant time, even if my boy's brakes did not always function!

I had a lovely lie-in this morning as it's my day off work. This afternoon, I took my spotty boy out for a lovely two hour hack and then schooled my ISH. The weather has been lovely here today too. :)

Turned 5 horses out this morning. Then drove 120km to visit my mare at the Equine clinic where we spent a good 1.5 hrs grooming, walking out and generally pampering her. Came home and back down the stables to muck out, bring in and feed. Then watched my daughter having a lesson on her new horse. Now sitting on my fat ass enjoying a glass of wine but thinking that I need to clean some tack.

Will spend the whole of tomorrow afternoon and some of the evening behind the secretary's table at a dressage show.

Took advantage of the really warm sunny weather and went for a 3 hour stomp around the countryside with a friend and her husband. Came back, chucked pony out nekkid along with other 2.

Son's ponio got taken out by the neighbour for me and then went to help young lad with his 18 month old filly and went walking round the lanes for an hour.

Feel totally nackered but just soooooooooo love it when spring is just about here.

Only down side is might have to spend the whole of tomorrow at home waiting for Comet to deliver the new fridge / freezer :(

Daughter riding lesson, came home to muck out and to go back to stables, sat down and fell asleep!!!!!

So mucked out and watched Gavin and Stacey whilst trying to distract 6 year old when the naughty bits came on :D

spent all morning watching Gavin & Stacey, popped over to the yard and went out on a lovely hack, came back and messed around in the school playing little games with the horses. My mare got to chill out in the sun rugless for a while and then I came home and watched more Gavin & Stacey - good day!

Well, we had a lovely sunny day today, i jumped my horse for the last time, in all her JW red matchy matchy, she felt very tense and uncomfotable under saddle though so i took it off and she jumped lovely bareback and i jumped my first ever double bareback, in the end it was 1.05cm which i'm very proud of :)
then chucked ponio out, she had a good roll and twisted her rug completely so i rushed in to rescue her, all i got was a buck fart and a load of dust, she obvs didn't want my help
then something came over me and i cleared out her stable all 4 big heavy rubber mats all on my own, cleaned them and leant them against the wall to dry, scrubbed the walls and the floor, put disinfectant powder down, sorted out all the stuff that is going with her and put all my stuff away. now i am VERY tired, got a back ache from carrying the mats and despite having a shower already i can still smell that horrific smell from underneath the mats
now have to walk the dogs, but when i'm back i will have yet another shower in the attemppt to get rid of the smell and lie down with a hot chocolate watching a movie :)

My goodness shinyish thats a fab day, well done you for the jump. Re the mats used to have them and I do so remember that smell it just seems to sink into every part of your body and stay there, did make me laugh when I read that :)

I sorted and cleaned my boat this morning, then went to the stables this afternoon. Went for a hack on one horse, had a lesson on another, took one for a walk in hand and one is doing walking under saddle as they are recovering from injury. Then came home to do coursework and next is bed!

I walked the dogs over the hills this morning then went to the yard and mucked out my two. Rode the bog pony and did a final practice of my test for tomorrow. Then bathed her (she's lemon on white - a lot of white :( ). Cleaned my tack, loaded my car, had a shower now all I have to do is turn up at Hartpury tomorrow and win the class! If only it were that easy....lolol :)

The weather was lovely this morning, sunny with a slight breeze so me and friend went on hack to woods and friends managed to get her horse through the stream for the first time so she was pleased.
gave stable a good muck out and another friend cleared out our feed room so saved me a job :D

Then the weather went down hill, huge winds and freezing cold and over cast. :(

hope it picks up, ready for summer!

Worked all day, but got a few rides in, which was a treat. Didn't have a lesson at 12:00 so rode one of the school horses who is on/off lame and they're trying to push him to see what is really going on. Then later rode a client's horse for her after I had exhausted her in the first half hour of the lesson and she wanted a breather!

Ponies seemed to be happy with the nice weather and all behaved themselves and I was filled with summer motivation and invented a complicated 'cowgirls' game for the children which they loved.

Came home, fed daughter and put her to bed. Now chilling with HHO and some chocolate hobnobs.
