What have you done with your horse today

i've a broken arm, so i went up, watched him playing in a field, and gave him his favourite neck massage while he ate his hay!

moved yards on Thursday afternoon, so boy was kept in yesterday, took him for a walk around the new fields and then turned him out with his new herd today for the first time (2 other gelds and an old mare).

quite nervous when turning him out, but they all settled in quite quickly after a few front legs thrown and a bit of squealing lol

Left him out until about 4pm and then brought him in for a 15 minutes training session (bare in mind he's only 10 months old). We just practiced walked on, standing and backing up.

Then in for a nice big dinner and an early night after the eventful day.

Changed his rugs, put him in the field and then later got him in, gave him a quick groom and re changed rugs. Oh and fed.... all this due to bloody saddler messing up, overflocking the saddle and now I cant ride him as its clearly pinching (placid horse bunnyhopping down a hill and then bolted - had to run him into a tree as he missed the exit to the woods in order to stop him or we were going home in a flat out gallop!). To top it all off shes ignoring my calls so I feel a trip to their company may be in order ;)

I haven't ridden any of mine today as he weather has been awful here! I brought my youngster in for a bit to get her used to being stabled, and then turned her out for the first time with my other two little ponies. It was nice to watch them all getting to know each other. :) With my two boys, I have just been to visit them at the yard, and sort them out for the evening. Will be riding them all tomorrow though! :)

Well we practised conjugating some Latin verbs and then played chess, before our regular 2 hours of afternoon violin practise. We are following the Suzuki method. ;-)

I fed Di breakfast at 7.30 ish. L went straight out as he is a fatty and doesn't need breakfast. C and Da had a haynet cause they don't need breakfast either and stopped in. Mum and Igroomed tacked up and hacked them this morning for about hour and half. They then went out and we did the beds, Di and L came in washed off legs and groomed then loaded into lorry to go to local indoor and did some SJ schooling for an hour. Came home and put them back in with a hay net as it was miserable weather and there isn't much grass. Got Da and C back in too. Everyone had another haynet and dinner about 7. I'll go out and check them and pick out at about 9.30.

Today - groomed, went to tack shop - bought new brushes (daughter spent birthday money!) back to stables, groomed again (this time using new cool tool which gets rid of malting hair, which I don't know the name of!) then daughter rode - lots of canter and then played traffic lights!! Very cool lesson!!!

Yesterday - groomed, plaited up Little Dolly (first time - looked awful, but very proud nonetheless!!), horseback birthday party (lots of games, was EXCELLENT!!!!) then pony club bronze test and a PC badge test!!!

Excellent few days, and BTW have I said recently that Little Dolly is AWESOME as are all of daughter's friends, the riding school and instructors!!! :D:D:D

It's probably mighty boring for all, not to have a negative word out of me, but times are good!!! :D:D:D

Took rob out for a hour hack with company. (he's literally only just back I to work this last couple weeks after nearly 6 months off)

Some lovely hills to walk up, and he wasn't too tired when I got back to the yard so I'm pleased he's starting to fitten up a little :-) looking forward to taking him out tomorrow!!

His knees are slowly giving him less problems and are loosening up nicely :D

Not entirely sure how I managed to quote someone there- didn't mean to lol!!!

Put foalie out for his weekly blast, then went on a nice long hack with Affy (got wet), then schooled Icy for half an hour (got even more wet), then brought foalie in (I'm now cold and very, very wet), in between mucking four stables out, grooming all three and poo picking the arena, but I feel strangely knackered and satisfied.

Hacked out for five hours today on three different horses got very soaked then did half hour ground work on my new one hoping to get on him next month

today quin and I had a very early lesson where we worked on our canter-walk transitions and perfecting the leg yield across the whole arena! He was a superstar - the joys of having an andy - dressage comes so naturally to him!

He then had a carrot and went out in the field to play with jazzy! A good day had by all :)

Fed brekfast and turned out, back for the farrier at 10.30 - turned up at 11 - back out again afterwards because it was raining, then back at 3ish -tacked him up but he was being a idiot again so finally took the bull by the horns and lunged him to get rid of all his flaming energy  Once he had calmed down(!) I then took him for a walk around the fields, it was 5.30pm by then. Back to the yard, cooled him off and tucked him up in bed. He was knackered!!!!!!!

I took my big horse to the beach - I'm getting him fit at the moment so was really nice to have somewhere to have a good trot and canter (usually stuck on the roads!)

Then I loaded my baby horse (rising 2) into my new trailer for the first time - he walked straight in cool as ice!!!

Nothing  ... Mucked out, fed and groomed. Went on a 2hr hack yesterday and the poor dear got stood on by our lead horse so she has a bit of a gash on her leg which must remain clean!!

Not a lot! Been out with OH today, mum led him out off her horse on a hack this morning. We called in on our way home, I mucked out and OH did his nets/water. Put Badger and Caffrey an extra rug on and gave them all their dinner.. and Badger a kiss. :)
