I am 5'8" and the horse I ride mainly at the moment is murphy who is a 15hh cob type. My own horse who is out at grass at the mo is 17hh and growing!!!
5'5- i ride and compete a 15hh anglo arabXwelsh and 13.1hh new forest pony.
Ideally i'd suit a 15.2hh/16hh but to be honest the little pony is my first pony and i won't budge off him, he copes ok with my weight and still manages to buck and mess about so i can't be too much of a hinderance! and the 15hh is my soul mate of the horse world I know each button to press and i love riding a little pony horse!
I sometimes ride my sisters 16hh, she did actually feel big until i started riding a 17.2 for a while, then she felt very pony like! I'd say that lthough the 17.2 was lovely, she was a bit too much for me to hold together after jumps etc
im 5ft 2, and abour 9st, and ride a 14,1 sec D mare, which i feel big on, but look ok, a 15.3/16h very LW tb who i look big on, and 15.1 MW, arab x sec D who i look, and feel great on!!
Im about 5'3''ish and probably medium slim build - not skinny-have sizeable riding/hockey thighs
and ride a 16hh 3/4TB 1/4ID mare and soon to be riding a little 16hh polish warmblood who is similar build to a connie x tb. Still ride most things from 13hh upwards but not keen on riding anything over 16.1 - feel like a pea on a drum!!!
don't really have a 'main horse' at the moment but my old horse was 15.1hh. I ride anything from about 12.2 up to about 17.2hh. Definitely prefer the 14.2hh to 16hh bracket even though leg wise 16.2hh is probably what suits me best.
I think weight is more important than height anyway, as long as you are happy on your horse and not causing him any harm, being the 'correct' height is mostly in the eye of the beholder
Im 5'6, 8.5 stone and my horse is a 16.2 Han x TB but is a very slightly built chap and barely fills a 6 foot rug. I used to feel very at home on my old 17.2 TB and would feel underhorsed on anything less than 16 hands (even though Im sure I could look quite comfortable on a 14.2!)
im 5ft 8.5 and ride a 16h3 ISH, 16h3 TB and 16h1 TB.
my legs are far too long for an avergae 15h2 as i have long legs and a short body. i was doing dressage with my stirrups cranked up just so i could be in contact with the horses sides!
I'm 5ft7ins, size 12 and ride a chunkyish 15.1/ 15.2hh Welsh x tb. I sometimes worry that I look too big on him as I have long legs but others say not.
I'm 5'7, size 12, and my main ride is a 15.2 arab, and she's the perfect size for me, though I used to ride a 14.3 arab most of the time a few years ago and up until recently rode him every once in a while (he's retired now). I feel perfectly happy riding a 13.3ish welshie (MW) and i veeery occasionally a 13hh welsh x but my legs are too long now tbh and I have to ride quite short as shes quite narrow. Biggest I've ridden is a 16.3 I think though I wouldn't riding bigger horses if the opportunity came along XD
I'm 5ft 3 1/2, size 8 and have a 17hh warmblood. He's very strong but we cope together!! My legs fit him as they are long but my body looks tiny!! He was meant to be smaller in the ad but when i got there he was much bigger, fell in love so he came home!!!
