Waffled a lot!
We have two labs, and are thinking about insuring them after hearing lots of horror stories about them! I've never insured a dog or cat im my life before, and considering we've only ever had a cat run over that led to £600 of surgery, thats not bad over twenty years!
One lab has just come from a rescue, and they reccommend petplan, but the total for basic cover for both labs is £30 a month - which is more than the building insurance on our mortgage! I've just looked up how much it would be on KBIS, who insure our horses, and its nearly £28 with them too. I'm now wondering whether to keep a couple of thousand in an account, and just pay £30 a month into it ourselves. We used to do that with the ponies. I guess we need third party insurance anyway, but can't see any options for just third party liike you can do with horses.
What does everyone else do? As you can probably tell, I'm not a fan of insurance companies! I think everything is loaded in their favour!
