I don't think A 'toff' can be named from what you do/where you live - more how you act. I'm not sure I think any of them are necessarily toff things to do, although I think they can be, depending on the person, if that makes sense?

what a shame she has such a closed mind, and narrow minded view of the world. my friend's daughter lives on a council estate and when i took her to the yard she loved it, i also took her to a few other nice places, she was thrilled to bits to see a a different way of life.
your friend reminds me of rude english people in a foreign country....

how could anyone not like the cute little Polly tea rooms!!!!

I thought it might have been!lol!!! I LOVE the Polly tea rooms and frequently haunt them when visiting my friend who lives in a gorgeous little thatched cottage in Woodborough! It's a heavenly place ! I used to love that ball gown shop called carriges at 4!

When I was at Uni I had a friend (also Afro Caribbean BTW) who had never been out of London - EVER!! (she had flown out mind!) I took her home once to drop off a van I rented and she couldn't believe that the M3 'ran out' of lights! She really thought that every road in the UK had road lights! We p!ssed ourselves laughing at that! She really liked spending the W/E in the country and thought it was lovely. So not everyone from a city thinks that way.
