Feeling unmotivated. Wondering if I even want horses any more but they have always been my life's dream? It could be more that my life is very busy and pressured right now and the horses on top of that feels like the last straw. I am fine if they behave perfectly but I feel like throwing the towel in if they do not do what I ask first time and without argument. I am making them sound awful! They are not badly behaved as a rule and have sweet friendly natures.

Today I am going to have a big clear out and clean up in my tack room in the hope that with the tack and horses all clean and smart I will feel more motivated to do something with them. What is everyone else doing today?

Today , I lunged two this morning I can't ride ATM because of a bruised rib one got ridden by a friend .
Horses standing in having a sleep ATM .
I have set myself the task of de cluttering the kitchen and garden room and hall giveing them a proper clean and doing the laundry and washing .
I just off to turn out the horses .

Poo picked, groomed 3, rode 1, lunged 1, scrubbed out final stable, cleaned 2 sets tack, swept down yard.
Home and 2 loads on the line, big rose by front door dead headed, now given self an hour lunch break.
I suspect that will now turn into a longer sit as Moto GP is on shortly......

Ridden one, other one ridden by sharer, poked and prodded DP to see where he is sore, home to full cooked breakfast and coffee, emptied the mouse traps in the garage, looked at the mess in the garage and closed the door on it, washing on so I'm going to have to go back into the garage to get it out of the machine whereupon I will continue to ignore the mess, about to go and mow the orchard. Might have a Sunday afternoon snooze in front of the tv before turning the ponies out later.

morning stables done and fields poo picked, currently feet up having a rest and planning the next few weeks :D
Off hacking shortly.

I had a jumping session this morning (lots to work on :D ) & went on a short hack to cool down afterwards. I gave mine a bath & had a mane/tail tidying session. I also had a tidy up of my storage area & will be going back later on to bring mine & a friends in and practise loading with mine.

In between that, I'm going to try and deep clean my car ... wish me luck!

What do you & your horse enjoy doing? If everything else is feeling pressured, just so what you enjoy - even if that's pootling around the block on a loose rein enjoying the scenery!

Sat with unwell fiance feeling like a neglectful horse mum as my boy has barely had a minute of my time the last week :(

Been out to a local venue to photograph a horse for a friend and have made a start editing said photos (horse was competing in affiliated dressage so was fully plaited up and looking very smart). Popping up to yard now to see my pony - on full livery so no yard stuff to do :-) - probably won't ride as long hack yesterday and another tomorrow. Tack filthy, but doubt I'll get round to cleaning it tbh ..... not demotivated, but very busy at the moment with a very busy week ahead so I think pony will be having a quiet week. <<sigh>>

Mucked out 3, ridden two, and I'm now off to a friend's - we're starting her homebred 4 year old at the moment. Got him longreining and just about ready to sit on. - exciting times for her - it's been a long wait to get to this point! Will check on the turned away ones while I'm out - they're in fields up the road, on the way to the friend's place.

Boot! to Goldenstar : )

I cleared out the tack room yesterday and today went to a car boot sale with my car more full than you can imagine. Because nothing you ever have is ok for a new horse or pony, they are always not a good fit, don't suit, or new animal has a complete wardrobe.. I blush at how many rugs I have accumulated. But, they have all gone! I'm knackered, but proud of myself for the ruthlessness. And the space!

I took my family up to HAPPA to see all the rescue horses, had many cuddles with all the residents, non horsey husband met a new friend and wouldn't leave his stable, then went back and said bye when we were leaving the big softie (hubby that is) great day now sat catching up having a brew :)

My two are at home, field kept and normally only hacked. But since one is lame right now I decided to ride the other (my spooky, crazy, stubborn, beloved PRE) in the field and do some bomb proofing. I don't think shE has ever been schooled in her life. We rode over tarpaulin, between rows of posts with plastic bags hanging off them, stepped over logs, and practiced some of things that she has been getting a bit naughty with when hacking. I may as well use this opportunity to get back to basics whilst my other horse is out of action.

Lovely long hack out in the sunshine this morning and then went to buy feed this afternoon. Pottered in the garden for a bit and then back up to check on the girls.

Wonderful week of weather coming up so I've got the epilater charging and have located my shorts!

OP I know exactly how you feel, you have my sympathy.

Been over to visit my parents today and just heading back from a nice chilled out hour at the yard. Groomed one and worked on her feet picking up, groomed the other. No riding as one off lame atm and rising facilities at my yard aren't great.
My younger mare is such a wee sook, my OH went round the back to make a phone call and she stood watching him until he came back, will attempt to post a picture...

Here's your requested kick, Goldenstar.

I have been trying to understand legal philosophy for the past few days (exam on Wednesday).

I hope you have your mind round it .
I am musing on why does all this cleaning house care thingy take so long and why can I never work out how long it takes .
Been at it since ten ( with breaks on here ) still got mountains to do .

Chasing my horse around a lovely big field of grass after he learnt how to lift & remove a gate. Luckily he went in the right direction without too much exuberance.

V&C fun ride with a couple of friends. Horse was a prat, bronking like a loon. He doesn't like being held back from a group of horses in front, and has been known to put in the odd buck in that circumstance, but this was ridiculous and really quite dangerous. Settled after about 5 miles, thank goodness, as it was getting a bit wearing :/

I've been at work all day! In the tipping rain! Dinner time now thankfully! One day I will have enough time to actually ride one of my own let alone the 4 I really do need to get back into work ...

Did my seven horses, fed one friends four horses, followed by another friends one. Then have been playing groom at a show for two friends all day.

Great day had at show, lovely weather just looking forward to getting not bed later now.

Up early, rode one at 7am. Mucked out 7. Left home at 8.45 to drive 1.5 hrs to help at RC Area competition.

Did my bit there, chatted to team members, left at 3.30 to drive home.

Sorted stables, caught horses and then rode another. Pooped now!

Fed 8 ponies and poo picked the fields. Loaded up son's pony and took them jumping. Came back, rode my mare. Finished off cooking dinner, which hubby had managed to follow verbal instructions for (I am impressed!). Threw the vaccum around and tried to find my mares passport, failed.

Nothing today, been at a friend's house but yesterday I mucked out groomed AM, had a lesson at lunch, skipped out, poopicked, cared for Dad's horse PM. in the evening I groomed and settled both down for the night by soaking hay, skipping out again and filling water.

You have all been so busy! I went for a short hack in the end. It was peaceful in the woods with the birds tweeting. Clipped the hairy one's hairy bits and have a smart horse again now too.
