Its horrible there are nasty bitey insects around we need a few weeks of frost at least, this warm damp weather just gets on my nerves it's just not winter.
Was wet from the start of September in Gloucestershire last year, we had about 8 months of rain. It was hell.Last year the rain started in November and pretty much didn't stop until April. Here at least we didn't get any snow either and only a handful of hard frosts.
This year the rain started in October, and so far shows no signs of letting up.
My field is already under water so I have opened up the middle of my track earlier than I wanted, as at least the grass covering means it's not mud soup and there's somewhere for them to get out of the worst of it.
Annoyingly my gateway is my lowest point of my field, I haven't seen the ground there in a week or so.

Was the same here in Devon. Had them on the winter grazing end of September, ground was mullered by December. Then droughts in April/May meant the grass took forever to get growing. The year before that, they were on the Summer grazing till mid November, that was an idyllic winter, and we had a bumper hay crop that year. Wasn't any point of even trying this year!Worcestershire was the same, my lot came in last week of September. This year 1st November which definitely shortens the winter. This time last year we could not walk across the land it was a total swamp.

Was 14 at my yard at 5pm, B has a full front and belly off clip (Irish blanket) and has no rug on tonight, its currently 13 here at about 10pm.14c at ours. I’ve left mine naked and he has a trace/blanket clip. I was the only one though?!
Be careful what you wish for!I'll take snow over rain at this point!!
