What is your favourite crossbreeds

Sorry if this sounds a bit thick but doesnt "Anglo" mean 50% Thoroughbred? So anyhing half Tb would be classed as an anglo.
Would that make my mare a Anglo Clydesdale?

I always understood it that an anglo arab is thoroughbred x arabian in any capacity as long a said horse has a minimum 12.5% arabian.

Tamarillo is somewhere around the 25% + mark I believe, but he isn't an AA as his sire was registered as a PBA.

Anglo Arab is 50% TB 50% Arab - any other percentage is a partbred.

My favourite is TB x Clydesdale - Clydesdale mum and TB dad - I breed them so am very biased

Well the rules must have changed in recent times as that certainly isn't how it used to be. If that were the case an awful lot of the Anglo-Arabs I have known/seen couldn't be classes as such.

To me an Anglo-Arab has been, and always will be - despite any rule changes - a mixture of Arab and Thoroughbred blood in any proportion.

Indeed - AA's are also partbreds (they are known as part breds in the USA), but the amount of blood from each breed can vary a lot. For example, I own a TB mare and a friend owns an Arab mare... we are both interested in the same AA stallion for use in future years (he is 50/50), our foals would both be AA's, mine would be 75% TB + 25% Arab blood and hers would be 25% TB blood and 75% Arab blood.

As far as I am aware (as with many part breds or 'crossbreeds') you can have up to 87.5% of one breed and 12.5% of the other for it still to be classed as an Anglo Arabian.

I do think it is a shame that other common partbreds ie Welsh x TB cannot be known as Anglo-breeds, I would love to be able to show and compare them as you can AA's!! :D

An Anglo arab does not have to have 50% Arab and 50% TB, It is as long as it has 25% arab blood and only TB and arab blood, any less arab blood or any other breed mixed in then it is classed as a Part Bred Arab.
It can also be an anglo arab if it has a low % of TB blood, such as 75% arab, 25% TB.

Yes I think that is right, I couldn't find that anywhere but I have definitely seen that before!
