What is your favourite horsey chore?

Love mucking out and putting him back into a big deep straw bed in winter and love clipping i usually do mine and about 5 others haha im another one who hates filling haynets!

Clipping! The most therapeutic thing in the world :)

Me too. Can't wait for my highland to get his huge woolly coat on so I can clip. I never clip out - usually do a chaser, poll to stifle job, so getting the lines just right is my favourite thing. He's getting there ... maybe 2 or 3 weeks more ....

See I hate making up feeds....but that's 'cos I just have a rented field so I have to make up feeds at home and wait forever and a day for them to soak.

I love grooming my little welsh B. She is retired so doesn't get groomed as much as the others so when I have time I give her the full works. :)

Also love putting out big piles of hay in the Winter.

Washing and grooming. I love making my ponies clean and sparkly, watching my grey turn back to grey from brown, conditioning and spraying! I have a huge selection of products for all needs, and I do seem to spend a lot of time washing and grooming...

Oooh, i quite like un clogging and plugging stud holes :L possibly the only person in the world! i quite enjoy mucking out too unless its a really filthy beast! and faffing/grooming&polishing!

After 35 years of keeping horses my favourite chore is watching somebody else do the work for me.

Amen to that!

I do like clipping and trimming, and I like setting beds fair. Mostly I like sitting in Alfs stable with a book while he wuffles me!

I like doing evening feeds - there's something very satisfying about a yard full of horses shouting at you!

There is something about a clean stable*with hay, feed and water all done with a rubber matting and deep bed of shavings that is just lush! Absolutely love it and would take ages getting it just right, however mine now live out...

I quite like poo picking my field, as long as the weather isn't foul and the wheelbarrow isn't getting stuck in mud.

Anything to do with electric fencing drives me nuts, I always end up getting the tape in a great big knot.

I like cleaning bridles too, taking them apart and putting them together again. Saddles are a completely different matter though, far too hefty and bulky. My saddle gets excited if it's being cleaned as it happens so rarely, it knows it's going somewhere special!

I love turning out because I hang over the gate and watch them gallop up the field / roll / groom for ages. Also like doing feeds and I quite enjoy poo picking - probably because I only do it about once every 3 weeks (pay others to do it the rest of the time!)

Most of 'em. I don't love the mechanics of mucking out, but I do love seeing a nice deep, fluffy straw bed . . . ditto a swept floor, bulging haynets, clean buckets full of fresh water and feeds made up. I also love seeing a clean/tidy horse so Kal is always as spotless as I can make him . . . mane/tail brushed, mane pulled, feathers (they are minimal) removed, whiskers trimmed and poo stains removed. I like clean rugs too . . . so his are washed regularly. No point putting dirty rugs on a clean horse ;). I love cleaning tack . . . and although I hate poo picking, I get a deep satisfaction from a clean/tidy paddock.

Oh, and this one might be a tad weird . . . I love seeing my section of the haybarn fully stocked with hay/straw/haylage and my feed bins bursting with feed . . . odd no?

THIS!! I have a massive obsession with a full hay barn! Once I am down to about 3/4 full, I order a delivery! Glad it's not just me! Same goes with feed bins too!

There aren't many chores I dislike, but I do enjoy poo picking, but only when my boys are turned out...I love the fact they pootle over and have a chat with me then wander off again and as soon as one comes over for a cuddle the other 2 come along to see what they missing! I frequently sit down in the field and ponder the meaning of life to be joined by 3 munching horses and my dog......heaven on earth!

Clipping! The most therapeutic thing in the world :)

I used to love clipping but now it just makes my hands and lower arms numb and tingly for a couple of weeks-it really upsets my carpul tunnel syndrome, although I think I forgot that when I purchased some bargain priced lister clippers last thurs-I am really looking forward to using them but will regret it after

Bathing - Theres nothing better than taking my sweaty beast (my horse obviously!) and giving him a top to toe wash and scrub and how clean and soft he is afterwards. OK so I get as wet as him and it doesn't last ten minutes before he's rolled in mud and/or poo but for those ten minutes I've got the cleanest horse in the land!

I enjoy most yard jobs tbh. I absolutely love mucking out - there are few things more satisfying to me than a lovely clean, deep bed, yard all swept clean and muck heap all squared off and tidy. I also really enjoy cleaning tack.
