here's a new one. photos taken on flat ground and then twisted round so the ground slopes! Do they think it makes their horse look like it's got uphill paces?!
I would have thought it pretty obvious that a just backed 3 year old is going to be VERY green (particularly as I made a point of stressing that in the ad)!!
And I put in the ad that the pony is just 14.1hh on his bum - who, in their right mind, would measure a 3 year old on the withers anyway? Surely everyone knows that no 3 year old has reached its mature height yet and I really would have thought that an equine vet especially would have had rather more common sense.
I made very sure when I compiled the ad that I included as much information as possible as I had taken on board all the comments that have been on various forums including this one, on what people want to see! That's why people who waste your time coming to see something that is clearly NOT what they are looking for, are classed as "timewasters" in my book.
To me, "no joy riders, time wasters," etc means don't bother coming and looking if you havent got the money or aren't serious about buying. Or for people who just go round trying out horses for free rides!!!
But no one invites those sort of people to look at their horse! It should be implicit in an advert that only those who are serious should turn up to look, but there are a few who have the brass neck to take window shopping a couple of steps further. But if they are that bold they really aren't going to think twice just because you write no timewasters in an ad.
Afterall what are you going to do if they "timewaste"? Even if you put "no timewasters" in your ad and someone turned up rode your horse and got off saying "actually I'm not looking to buy a horse at all nah nah ne nah nah" the fact is you can do naff all about it bar asking them to leave your premises. So what is the point writing it in the ad???
The people who it will put off are genuine buyers who may not be confident about making an immediate decision, but they may be a perfect long term home for your horse as they are also likely to be people who don't buy and sell regularly!
Utterly counter productive if you ask me!

Sorry Katt I disagree with just about all that
Exactly! I have a TB mare - grandsire Shirley Heights and Great Grandsire Mill Reef. Should have been a superstar. Could she race? No, that's why I've got her!
We did too - we sold hewr last year and never got any updates - do I dare to hope! She is /was called Fleurance
has hunted/xc/sj, but was he any good?
lousy pictures where you can't see conformation or how its going, the only pic in one add was the horse in a rug standing in a field.
missing height/age/sex
low mileage - does that just mean green?
There is a riding school around my way that has some ponies for sale on their website, and it states " only for sale if to remain at xxxx stables"........how can they say that?? you could just move as soon as you have bought the pony, surely??
