What jobs do we all have?

I have 2 jobs,

Job 1 is on a private yard looking after 4 ponies, lunging, riding, feeding, tack cleaning etc 4 mornings a week.

Job 2 is as a Nanny, the children have ponies and my horses live on site so lot's of 'horsey' stuff involved, I work there 5 afternoons a week.

Plan for the future, go back to school and qualify to be a primary school teacher.......can't see it happening but a girl can dream!!

Don't knock yourself, it will happen. It might take years but sometimes everything in your life just pushes you into it or makes it easier for you to make the change. But it will happen!

Im a nurse on a busy ICU department, I love my job and wake up every morning and look forward to the day ahead, it's not well paid, long hours, we are always short staffed, the government make cut's so the trust has no money. But I work with an awesome team, I love my patients courage, bravery and willingness, we laugh and cry together, but most of all I love seeing the really poorly people come back and see us when they are fit and well, it's fab. So for all it's faults nursing is the MOST rewarding job in the world. How many others can say that?!
If your not happy change it, life's to short, remember for every 60 seconds we spend bored/sad/annoyed is 1 mintue of happiness we can never get back ;)!x
 
I'm an equine and small animal vet- absolutely love it

I am a presenter and conference facilitator - I present business and corporate programmes for companies, do voice-overs and host events etc. Been doing it freelance for over 20 years, although the last two years have been very tough - conferences and awards ceremonies are the first extras to get cut :o

I love it when I do work, I just hope more turns up soon!

When it is going smoothly, it means I can have plenty of time with the gg. When it's not, I have plenty of time to be with the gg whilst panicking about money...:(

but managing a business is a whole lot of nothing to know about.... so your experience is in the pub/restaurant trade, but the fundamentals are the same in any business!

I'm not sure I could do it though, and it would be a big leap of faith for me to move into another industry I think.

ETA... on reading that it came out all wrong... what I meant is that managing a business is an awful lot of stuff that you seem to be dismissing as not a lot of knowledge

I am full time student at uni! Soon to be physiotherapist :)

I also work part time at a local saddlers and cover their shop for when they are away at shows.

I also teach at pony club from time to time! :p
 
I work as a chemist in the precious metals inuistry, as its the only scince job i could get out of uni
but want to get into toxicology

I see many people who are about to learn they have cancers or life threatening illnesses and many people who are on their journey of having cancer and other illnesses. Also trauma patients coming through A&E.

I love my job. I can't change what has happened to my patients but I can help their journey more comfortable and bearable. My job also makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be healthy.

Thanks for all your replys guys, I guess Il keep buying the job paper and hopefuly find something that suits, I phoned about a job this afternoon for a support person for people that have had brain injurys and need help in getting back to a normal life, ive got an application coming but the lady on the phone sounded so unhappy and not interested, made me wonder if the company was worth working for!
Im going to look into doing a part time course as well in something to maybe get me on track for setting my own business up.

:)
 
Hi I have to admit my last job was workin in a fish and chip shop for the last 6 yrs and I resigned last week.I loved the variety of people that came in,especially the summer hols,and we got our regulars at the same time and same day every week! I loved it but decided I wanted to do something else with my life( I left school with very little qualifications) and didn't know what to do.I've recently had an interview for a communoty support worker and got the job Yeeeeeee.
 
I've just gone into doing my art full time - very scary, but great to be able to do something I love doing, and means I am at home to keep an eye on the gg's and all the other fluffies!!:D
 
I handle personal injury claims for a motor insurer. It has the potential to be a really interesting and varied job but unfortunately they have no interest in career development. Ive been a trainee for three years - I was ready to move up after 18 months. Im just looking for other opportunites and try to be thankful I have a job!
 
To a lot of people I am the total scum of the earth! I am an Estate Agent, more precisely I am a Director of an Estate/Letting Agency with several branches. We are one of the largest independents in the area. The pay is very very good, hours ****, and business always comes first but the company sponsors my eventer daughter and there is nobody, who can tell me I cant skive off and see my horses (except my business partner, who although not horsey, understands my passion for horses).

All joking aside I am one of the lucky people in that I love my job. I work with really fantastic people who are for the most part loyal and committed, we take a huge pride in our customer service and have a great local reputation. Its really interesting to see what people actually do.
 
I always wanted to work with horses but my parents wouldnt let me - the saying once your hobby becomes your job you lose your hobby...

so i got a job as close to it as possible with the Jockey Club well now the BHA (Admin work)

Been here nearly 10 years since leaving school at 18....

Im a general purpose handler i have a GSD basically used for searching and detaining people searching for property..tracking....a bit of everything really..our specialist dogs are drugs/explosive search dogs and we also have cadaver dogs that search for human remains!!
 
I have just finished a degree in Equine Dental Science. Decided that it was all in fact a bad idea, it wasn't for me and have changed my mind. At least I have got other sciencey things from it. Now working part time at a veterinary research lab, mainly microbiology, and a couple of days a week at a yard (mainly as I don't have a horse right now and this means I get to ride the horses).

I would love to get into equine/animal nutrition, however these kind of jobs are few and far between. Or I would love to work in a research lab full time. Maybe even try to get into vet nursing...I'm only 21, I have plenty of time! :)

Been a groom part time at various yards throughout school, college and uni and now am fed up of the early mornings, rubbish pay and no enthusiasm to do your own horses at the end of the day :(

Going to miss being a student :(
 
I worked with horses and got my AI (sort of - lost my book for my 500 hours!). My dad felt I should 'do' something better that earned some proper money. He was right I did my nusre training and earn enough to keep my pony (I own half of her) and my truck (shared with 2 others). I couldn't go back to working with them ever. I like it too much as hobby.
 
I am a carer in a nursing home. I look after the elderly with demetia, learning difficulties and end of life care. It can be stressful ,we are always short staffed and it doesn't pay well but i wouldn't change it for the world. I work 7-3 6 days a week including every other weekend. This gives me loads of time for the horses in the afternoons.
 
Book - keeping and accountancy work as sadly working with horses just doesn't pay. Did some groom work in my late teens and it was a lot of graft for hardly any money. My work pays well and therefore I can have my horses - simples :D
