Or are they perfect?
tongue.gif
Do you expect them/want them to be perfectly behaved?

I don't think mine are too bad... Star jumps up, and pulls on the lead, oh and steals food from the kitchen worktop if she can!! Alf is pretty good really, just a bit wild on walks but it's all good as long as constant yapping doesn't get on your nerves!
tongue.gif

I'm not too bothered about little naughty things, I like them to have their own personality!
tongue.gif
I wish Star wouldn't jump up but I don't think we would be consistant enough to train her out of it.. so I guess we'll have to put up with it!
smirk.gif

So what about your pooches?
smile.gif

Well, the male dog used to go walkabout by himself and go round sh*gging all the local ladies
wink.gif
Trip to the vet sorted that one out
grin.gif

Ok on the lead - manageable and well behaved if they are tired. Boy dog occasionally likes a bit of a scrap, but thats the terrier in him, he wouldn't harm a fly really, its all noise - just think he likes to amuse himself!

Amber jumps up and has an annoying whine. But other than that is pretty prefect.
Hattie barks and huffs at you when she wants something which can be annoying and she gets Amber off of her bed so she can sleep on it, which means barking at her in the middle of the night.

Winds the cat up (though she is as bad), barks at dogs through the car window, chews the kitchen shelving occasionally.... I think that's about it! Oh and goes off sniffing things and won't come back now and again, but he is a hound.

My old dog, was without a doubt the greatest dog ive ever had. She was a rescue dog, and other than being a tad shy for the first few years had no vices what so ever. She was great with other dogs, around horses, in the house, out on walks, left a lone. The lot. I never once had to walk her with a lead. She knew all about roads and cars. She listened and obeyed everything she was asked to do. She truley was one in a million!
...Iowa, on the other hand (the newest addition) is a nightmare! She's an American Eskimo Dog, and has all their annoying traits! She is VERY highly strung, cant be left alone. Barks non stop at people entering the house, people walking buy, People out on walks, Other dogs... She is terrible around other dogs, Not because shes vicious, but she is so tense and scared she wont let them near her!
...She isnt a rescue dog. Ive had her from 10 weeks old and know her entire history.
Oh yeah, and she chews EVERYTHING!

...I love her to bits though. She has alot of character!

omg my dog kills mice, parades dirty underwear and socks out of the wash bin around the house, nicks shoes out of the cupord and makes you chase her! and aswell as that she drinks out the toilet and bin raids!!! she is so cheeky but i love her she is so cuddly and loving

I think I've managed to repress my old dogs bad habits, but my Finnish Lapphund USED to like to walk around suckling on, or chew on "lecapellets" that she took from my flowerpots. Strangly, both her daughters have the same interest in my "lecapellets", so I'm wondering if it could be inherited?!

Oh, and Jonna often comes to me after eating and burpes! And she occasionally coughs up water on the floor after drinking in the waterbowl. If I ever need to go up during the night and happens to step in one, it always makes me freeze and think I've stept in vomit or pee.

Stella's a good girl. Her bad habits are fairly minor:

Stares at you when you're eating, though she's quiet and keeps her distance.

Barks her head off at skateboarders, though she'll shut up right away if you tell her to leave it.

Gets whipped into a frenzy if there's a dog fight/argument. Last week, there was a fairly innocuous scrap between a Cairn and a Golden Retriever, and old squishy bum decided she had rush over and bark down the instigator's ear (the Cairn) until he left the Golden alone. If it's a really serious scrap, she doesn't bother--thank goodness!

Have to mention my "pack" which is my 2 with my mums 3 dogs - they are awful!! seriously!!! They have a really problem with rabbits!
confused.gif
It wouldn't be that bad but all but 1 (Willow, mum's border terrier) don't know how to kill them, so they just chew them up a bit and then Willow has to come and finish them off!
confused.gif

doesn't help that all the rabbits have mixi round us.. poor things.

Well Skyler the great dane is a destroyer and has wrecked our sitting room carpet
frown.gif
She's also chewed my new sunglasses, our sky remote, the wall clock, some important letters I stupidly left lying on a high table which she can reach anyway cause she's huge. I could go on...
She barks even when there's no reason to as soon as you let her out into the garden.
She drools when she drinks, really badly.
She also burps in your face.
She jumps up even tho she's not supposed to (my OH's fault as he encourages her up!)
She climbs up on the dining room table as soon as we leave the house (never goes on when we're in the house!)
And she's not even our dog
frown.gif

Jazz the black lab is only destructive if it's food orientated. If she thinks it has food in it she'll tear it apart.
Other than that she's a great dog
laugh.gif

Well she goes on the dining room table too, but again only when we're out. I never see them, just the hair that's left behind.

I can't spot any dog in the picture, so how can you blame the innocent dogs for it?
confused.gif

No, to be honest, I would also suspect the cats had something to do with it, looks as if they've found themselves a Disneyland for cats!

The cats, especially the kitten in the middle, thought it was a wonderful place to play

Star can't get up on the worktops at our house because there are cupboards above and she would knock herself out if she jumped up - but she gets up with all 4's at my mums - nothing is safe!!! They keep complaining when she eats loaves of bread but they never learn!

Where do i start!!!!

My english pointer who is 13 months old is a real character. He is perfect in the house when i'm home. He is rarely left on his own but when he is, boy does he have fun!!!

He has on two occassions managed to switch the gas hob on, so the kitchen is stinking of gas on my arrival. He completely clears the worktops, and chews whatever is on it, my father in-laws bible got the treatment one day, you can guess how popular i was!!

If I go out and leave him at home, with another family member still being in the house, he does everything in his power to try to find me which is such a nightmare. If there are any windows open in the house he will jump out of them and go searching for me. The windows are all high up, dont quite know how he manages it. If i am at home i can leave the doors open of the house and he wont go any-where. He is such a mummy's boy. Very sweet but a bloody nightmare at the same time.

Everyone is now warned to put him in the cage before going out!!

I do love him to bits tho.

Star is a German pointer and she was a total nightmare when we first got her - you couldn't leave her at all or she would totally wreck the house and howl!
smirk.gif
We had to crate her in the end cos she was so bad. Now she's got her little freind Alf she's fine to leave, she lays on the bedroom windowsil waiting for us to come home.

But Prose that isn't staring, she's clearly trying to hypnotize you or your food to come to her!

One of these days, my dinner will hover right off the plate and fly into her mouth.

oh god my dog is terrible, but he used to be soooooo much worse than he is now, right where do i start well before we moved house he would
chew riding hats
eat make-up (horsey make up as in BLACK puke!!!)
crazy.gif

wee in the hall!
bark at anyone that came past the window!
jump up at everyone!
bite people if they smacked him or shouted at him or cuddled him or just for the sake of it really.
blush.gif

if you let him off the lead it had to be somwhere enclosed as it just used to run for it.
he would quite often escape then turn up three hours later!!
digging carpets up!
chewing beds untill all of the stuffing had came out of the matress!
mad.gif

oh and he used to either roll the quilt up or find a teddy and hump it.
then if it was a teddy when he had finished he would quite often pull its eyes off and pull the stuffing out of them!!
blush.gif

i think that was it, now that we have moved house he has got rid of alot of those bad habits but devloped new ones to make up for it! just some of the things he does now...
chewing doors (to the point there is a massive hole in it)!
looking out of the window but rubbing his nose on it at the same time so there is lots of nice snot marks.
trying to kill hedgehogs (he is yet to actually kill anything other than a baby bird, he doesnt seem to be able to kill anything that can run or has spikes)!!
smirk.gif

will still bite but not as much.
he is another that will walk up stick his nose in your face and burp!
jumps on and off the bed making as much noise as possible.
mad.gif

whining allllllll of the time.
still digs carpets.
erm will steal food off the bench, and drink cups of tea it they have been left lying!
erm there is probs soooo much more but its waaay to late to think lol.

My 2yr old JRT is an absolute thief!

He steals cash (note form only) & puts it in his basket

He also steals ANY food he can get his grotty paws on...

He "speaks" regularly to let us know when he wants fed, walked, played with & general attention

He goes on the bed & calls us through, to play chase him off..

When we visit our friends (dog owners) he pees up their furniture..

Once he's eaten, he wipes his whiskers clean...on sofa, rug or us.

He will drink tea, juice or beer.....if cup/glass is within his reach!

Apart from that - hes gorgeous!!!

Ive got 2 pups so double the trouble! They jump the gate from their room into the rest of the house where they empty bins, eat cat food, jump on dining room table, eat wicker furniture, steal food from the side, attempt to clean dirty plates from the side and break them, eat plants, climb on the window sill, eat books, steal socks/gloves/scarves/shoes/bag and proceed to eat them, attempt to 'play' with the cats, eat cat poo from the litter tray!, pull on the lead, stomp all over dads vegetable patch (which he isnt best pleased about) and 1 of them jumps up covering you in mud from her paws... erm yes I think that is it lol. They're only young so still forgiving of some behaviour but starting training classes so hopefully Ill come in one day and I wont have an hour of cleaning up to do
smile.gif

List of naughty things my bratty but lovable lhasa apso does:
1) takes up 3/4 of the space of my pillow at night, leaving me to curl up and sleep in the other 1/4.

2) she dives at the window when she sees a cat go past and literally boxes the window with her paws, whilst barking. Im sure the sindow will fall out very soon.

3) She digs in the garden, then smudges her muddy face on us.

4) If I go in the porch for something she leaps at me and grabs my jeans when I come out again.

5) She barks in our faces if my mum doesn't give her anything to eat after we have finished our tea.

6) She is perfectly capable of jumping on the bed but if she cant be bothered she whines until someone comes to lift her up.

7) she gets tangled up in the blinds and pulls them apart.

8) She rolls in poo.

9) When we go in the car she insists on having the window all the way down so I get cold.

10) Steals the washing and rolls in the ironing.

Buds is quite strong on the lead, loves everyone far to much, but is getting there, he cant contain his excitment!!! 99% reliable recall but if another dog, then you have no chance, has to go and investigate and play
laugh.gif

Fab in the house
laugh.gif
Although does bark at the door to come in from outside, nothing a citronella collar wont sort out
laugh.gif

Blazey pulls on the lead and wee's with excitment!!
And between them, buds as hes taller pushes catch of stairgate open with his nose, and blaze ickle terrier, pushes it open with her nose at bottom and they get upstair!!
Crafty!!!

He eats money. I left loose change on the low windowsill in the kitchen today. Trouble is I left a fiver on there too. Found it on doormat in 7 wet pieces!

He eats kitten poo too.

And on Saturday, he went out, laid in HIS poo, and then jumped on kitten when he came in. Both him and kitten had a bath.

He IS only 9 weeks old though. Bless.
