What NOT to find out hacking...

we've found many interesting things out hacking

A flasher, a man that has lived in a tent in the middle of a field for 2 years, an escapee pig, an alpacca, a chicken stuck in a hedge, the red arrows practicing (old yard about 200 yards from airfield, horses found them fascinating but were never scared

), about 10 peacocks that decided to fly out right in front of Flash (who looked a little stunned haha!). The scariest thing we've come across was a piebald cob in a field, he is absolutely terrified of it and it takes us about 10 minutes to get past, every time!!

LMAO - actually that reminds me, came across a goat when out hacking which had stuck its head through the fence, got off and tried to free it and couldnt! Lucky the owner guy was around so went and told him...

My eventer was totally terrified of donkeys, so when we went on the hack past a field which had donkeys in we literally had to do rein back all the way up the hill so we could get past the field.... about 100 yards or so.... needless so say we didnt bother going that route often

What is it with flasher's and girls on horses?! I've had that twice!! Eurgh!
But also, Tuesday night... carnival related procession with girls on flower bedecked trailers and boys bigrade marching band (sounded like that one off Blackadder goes Forth!)
We have one ride next to an industrial site which occasionally has big tankers delivering into their silo (have to park on bridleway) which tip up vertically... horsey doesn't bat an eyelid at these but put a pile of grit on the corner of the road and whoa!!
My old pony was bombproof, except for on one occasion.... fisherman with all his stuff loaded onto a wheel-barrow.. I had to jump off as she spun round and was heading for home!
I suggest bulk tipper tankers, carnival processions and fisherman should be avoided at all costs, however flashers do make me laugh (in a grossed out kind ofa way!!)

A couple naked getting down to it, with all my giggling I managed to look the other way as I walked past but my pony was having a good old stare!

Circus Elephants wintering out in a field (WTF!!) were quite scary, as were ostriches.

Also when my old pony was kept near the army surplus depot we came face to face with a tank coming down a country lane.

All he was really scared of though was grasshoppers jumping out of the grass at him!!

My old horse was amazing in traffic, we used to hack through central Bristol and round the Ikea roundabout to get to the parks. I remember trotting by a huge articulated lorry, under a railway bridge, winching a broken down truck onto the back and he didn't turn a hair

However, rustly leaves, birds, suspicious insects in hedges, women with umbrellas and pushchairs were all considered deadly and dangerous monsters of death resulting in a speedy whip round for home every time

Recently the scariest thing I have encountered out hacking was a rattly old lorry with AIR BRAKES OMG!!!!! Cue much rearing and spinning and general silliness.

What a funny thread LOL
Generally everything else is ok, its just those monsters that are...........................................................PEOPLE !!
