The key to the tackroom on my equitrek, noticed when we arrived, so we had to take the door of its hinges to get in for the tack
My tack!! It was a rush to get there in time and I'd thrown the girth into the lorry and forgotten everything else. A complete stranger spotted me loading my horse as quickly as I had unloaded him and asked what had made me change my mind so quickly, so I had to mumble about being hopeless and forgetting the saddle and bridle - she knew the owners of the venue, grabbed my arm and dragged me across the lorry park to the house - she rang the doorbell and promptly strode off shouting at me to ask if they had anything I could borrow!! I was horrified but sadly they answered straight away and I had to confess my sad story to them.
They were absolutely lovely (luckily!) and raided their enormous tack room for me trying to find something that would fit him, handed me armfuls of leatherwork and bits to try and sent me on my way. I was ridiculously grateful and so was my horse, it was beautiful and quite fancy tack so it was so very kind of them - I made sure I returned it absolutely gleaming (because of course I'd remembered the tack cleaning kit..!)
