As above, I'm trying to decide what type of saddle pad I should use for my young horse while jumping to help reduce concussion. I have a stephen's sheepskin half pad that I used over a thin sheet with my previous saddle but I didn't get on with it - it was so incredibly thick I felt that it compromised saddle fit, especially when combined with the sheet!
I've tried polypads, but I don't like the way they seem to wrinkle up, and I also want to keep as close a contact as possible with my legs.
I'm now considering trying to find a thinner sheepskin pad, and using this underneath a thin sheet to get the full benefit of the sheepskin next to the horse.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the choice out there. Does anyone have any thoughts / recommendations?
