What on earth is this bit?!

Wow! that's some combination! Waterford mouthpiece, baucher links plus an almost loop ring type ring for added poll pressure on top of the baucher type poll pressure...though I'm not sure about the extra loops at the corners of the mouth piece. To be honest I have no clue -but it's like every bit rolled in to one!

not sure exactly what it does but its commen with showjumpers, looks like, a lifting action with a waterford type thing to stop them leaning on the bit.

Yep it's a butterfly flip, with a Waterford mputnpiece with copper links. to be fair this bit isn't as strong as first looks as got three diff postions for the reind depending on how much levarage u want, is decided to have a curb strap on the small rings at top off the sides, used to jump my pony in a nathe one as she liked it, but like any bit can be severe or harsh depending on riders hands! Was actually designed for a top showjumping horse called Butterfly Flip, and then was named after her(think Marlin Bayard rode her???)
