What rugs have we all got on tonight?

My old lady has her 50g rug on tonight, she is already hairier than most ponies, and she isnt finished yet! She has a chaser clip and is lame again tonight, so I dont want her cold.
Its meant to be going down to 5 degrees tonight, and its feeling pretty nippy!

One has his sweet itch rug on, the other is naked. The naked one lives out and it's been raining lots here but he's a horse...he has access to shelter and doesn't need a rug!

My KWPN has a standard neck medium weatherbeeta turnout on tonight, it had dropped down to 7.5C before teatime and the sky is very clear up here. My skinny ISH has the same on even though he is stabled in a building which keeps more heat in (battling to keep weight on so making sure I rug up).

My tb has a fleece on poor dooer who needs to gain weight and fine skinned. Never clipped as doesnt get enough coat. Good dooer tb, fat sec d, sec b and old hienz 57 are all naked. Supposed to be 9 here feel like 5 though according to forecast

Leo gets quite cold, delicate flower that he is, so as it was getting down to 10, feeling like 7 I just put his fleece on as he's stabled at night :D

Naked! I put a lightweight on Alf on Monday night, and he was far too hot at early o clock on Tuesday morning. He's going to be turned away for the winter, so won't be clipped, and I'd rather he started growing a bit of coat now so that I don't have to weigh him down with hundreds of rugs when its really cold. He has a LW Amigo, and a HW Weatherbeeta Taka - which should do him, although I will probably get him a MW as well - just in case!

Nothing! He's not being rugged til he's clipped at the begining of next month.

It chucked it down with rain at about 8pm here and was a rather chilly night but he and all his fieldmates who were all naked (except for the 27 year old girl who had a rainsheet) were all alive and well this morning... happily munching in the early morning sun. They survive quite well when left to it!

Both of mine were out naked last night. We had some rain about 7pm but apart from that it was dry and breezy, with a low of 4 degrees. Both horses were warm when checked last evening, and although they have minimal shelter (man-made or natural) they both seemed to have survived the night :D

So some people on here are openly admitting they are leaving their horses without clothes as they are well covered and haven't died or dissolved in the rain yet - you want to ber very careful, that sounds like a lazy approach and you should be weighing them hourly to ensure there is no impact on their health. Also put blooming rugs on them, especially if they are natives - don't you know it's September!!!

Do you think we should also up their feeds? :D:D

Only if someone in the New Lounge says so. Doesn't matter who it is, if anyone says anything, take it as gospel and worry about it, then do it.

So yes. I should say so. It's months and months till next June when we may have a week of temperatures in the 30's, can't be too careful.
