Oops, sorry TimeFaulter - no offence intended! But I'm sure you'll agree that men's bits are not at their best when displayed wrapped in nylon and lycra clingfilm!

Mind you, neither are some women's fat arses (myself included in that one). Lets face it, jodhs just don't suit most people.

A very long top should do the trick....

Guess thats my riding career over then. I can only ride in jods (comfortably). I will now have this image of every woman I meet thinking 'YUCK'.

But they think that anyway, jods or not....

I was going to add 'do you wear anything underneath?' but then I thought Shilasdair would tell me off for hijacking her post

Now, you wouldn't want to frighten the horses, would you?

Suppose that brings us back to the point of the post - what should male riders wear in order not to frighten horses, small children and ladies of a delicate disposition?

Breeches and well fitting long boots/short boots and chaps, (I'm forever seeing guys ride in buuts which are huge around the leg and they look awful!!!!!) Oh and buy decent stuff, cheepy stuff never fits well on guys!

My OH used to wear a pair of black cord breeches, they went all saggy around his bum, and he looked a bit like Max Wall (for those not old enough, use google). However when dressed for hunting in white breeches and black hunt coat, he looked very sexy and that not just by opinion, several of the ladies on our old yard used to comment, much to his embarassment.
He doesn't ride much anymore but if he does he just wears jeans/combat trousers and chaps.

My OH refuses to wear jods/breeches too, unless competing. He wears Levi 507's and ariat chaps&boots.
He has a baggy pair of kentucky breeches for comps.

I wear jods and am quite happy to wander round Tescos in them after riding! Mind you, I have the legs for it!

We'll be the judge of that - get the legs, and the pictures ready.
