What size rug does your horse wear?

I have a 14.2 MW.

He has 6' turnout rugs and 5'9" for all other rugs. My old horse's 6'3" Amigos turnouts fit him well too.

My 14.2hh mare currently has 5'9 and 6' rugs although she is still growing and filling out.

Last mare, a TB was a 5'9 to a 6ft. She was 15.2/15.3
Current mare, 16.1 warmblood is a 6ft 3, can get away with a 6ft because her chest isn't that wide (Shes currently in one of my old mares turnout rugs!!)

Both wear 6'9" - which is great as I don't have to worry who's rug is who's when they come back from the laundry, and if one needs repairing, there's always a spare.

One is a 17.2hh WB, the other is a 17hh WBxIrish - much finer but also much longer than the other one.

Fany (Ardennes trait Ardennais) is in 6ft/6-3, only 14-2 but very wide.(she actually only owns 2 and they were from last year, because she was poorly, no rugging this year )

Captain (Gelderlander) is in 7ft for good rugs, 7-3 for cheaper rugs such as Gallop or Rhinegold.

ooh - thats really surprised me - my idx @ 17hh often struggles to find a 7'3 to fit & we have been known to go up to 7'6 [ the evans outsize of the equine world lol]

My 15.2 ish welsh cross warmblood wears anything from a 5'9'' to a 6'6'' (inherited from his big brother!)

I would say 6'0'' fits the little one better as 6'3'' can be a bit big on him, it really depends on the make though.
