I had mucked out my 3 horses, fed the yard (all 35 of them) turned mine out and got stables ready for tonight all before 6:30am - I was back home at 6:45 just in time for the kids to get up and open their prezzies!

Didn't know there were two 5 o'clocks in one day!!! :D

Have a good day everyone. x

35???!!!! Blimey!

We were there between 8.15 and 8.45 topping up haylage and giving them water (they all live out). It was still minus 15 then but they're all fine. They each got a piece of parsnip as a Crimbo prezzie (I'm soooo generous!!! :D) Not a hope of poo-picking that early as everything was completely welded to the ground.... I've got THAT task to look forward to this afternoon when it's thawed a little.....

9'oclock on the dot. Quite happy munching away. Didn't even give my presents a second look, more interested in breakfast. Not impressed!

Went down the yard at 9am to muck out, turn out and get stables ready for tonight. We usually all have a christmas drink together on christmas morning in the day room but 3 people weren't there (mother and two daughters) and mum and I had to get back to open presents before dad went to work at 11am and someone else had to get home as turkey was cooking so it didn't happen this year :(

Business as usual - up at yard for 7am - turned out 3 mucked out 2 and left everything ready for later. Back home for 9.30 for breakfast and to open pressies. I will probably bring them in a bit earlier than usual tonight, but otherwise their routine will be much the same as any other day. Journey was made more interesting by black ice and a burst water main! Hope it's better this afternoon.

Did him at 8am, thought one of his legs looked swollen so tried to trot him up but he galloped back to his feed (including over a horrible gateway full of pot holes)...  Took him up to yard for opinions but everyone thought it looked fine do he dragged a very embarrassed me back down to his bucket in the field again! :o And I hit my head on the wooden fence.

Fed horses in nightie, dressing gown, puffa coat and wellies at about 8 o/c.....what a sight but they are at home, 2 in stables and 1 in field. Then in for quick coffee and opened pressies. OH turned out then cooked dinner whilst I mucked out and did beds etc ready for tonight. Got to go and make gravy now.....my sole Christmas dinner contribution!!

I can't see mine today :( my car is still snowed in and as the owners of the two other cars are highly allergic to horses, I can't use theirs :( Ollie has been on full livery for the last week but hopefully for not much longer!! I intend on digging the car out tomorrow, so I can actually see him for the first time in nearly a week :D

Staff at the yard fed, hayed, watered and mucked out my boys first thing and I got to the yard at 10 and turned them out. Just got back from bringing them in and sorting them out for the afternoon, then will be going back again this evening to sort them out for the night. :)

about 3pm. OH and son did this mornings feed at normal time at dawn and mucked out the frozen muck too.
bliss87, I am in rural shropshire and its been down to -17 here. does your horse have ad-lib hay or haylage? mine are unrugged weanlings and are warm enough on a deep straw bed,ad lib hay and 2 bucket feeds a day.

Went down at 8.30 to feed the yard, turn mine out and muck out etc and get everything ready for tonight. Someone else brought the yard in around 2 and I popped down just after 5 to hay and give them all their dinners.

I went out at 7:30am as I was desperate to ride! I mucked out and then took him for a snowy ride, it was absolutely freezing, I think I now have frost bite or something on my ear but it was worth it  :o

Im gutted i never got to see my boys 2day with being at work was lucky enough to have my mum sort them, 2morow is business as usual down for 7am i dont half miss them when i dont see them. God knows how i am going to cope for a month without them! Hope everyone has had a lovely christmas :)

Went up at 1130 to check on them and put hay in and sort water out and mucked stable out they share(they use it as a shelter). The owner had already given them their buckets. My older horse was very grumpy, he is just fed up. He has gone from going out 3-4 times a week to standing about in the field due to weather. Youngun running about like a nutter!!

Went back up at 1530 to feed them both again and do water-again!! It was actually freezing over again whilst I was there. Wish the cold weather would do one!!!

Went down at about 9 to turn out and muck out, we were -19 here last night (coldest place in the country) I was so cold I felt sick! Then went down and got her in at 12.30 before lunch.

Friend turned out my horse this morning so I didnt need to go up till 12.30 to muckout, bring in mine and friend's two horses then hay and feed as the yard was closing at 2pm! Had to feed early and put lots and lots of hay in to last.

Down at about 6.15am, fed yard, no water as pipes frozen, no turnout except in tiny trashed paddock while mucking out , did haynet, home by 7.30 to watch small person opening presents. Back to yard at 4pm, defrosted tap with kettle, mucked out again, watered, filled up water butts, fed, hayed, now back home with glass of wine :)

hes on about 3/4 bale of hay a day and big straw bed, and a bucket of feed a day (half in the morning and half at night) its the first time in 10 years ive ever had him and hes been shaking, hes abit of wuss which does help

I was down with mine at 8.30.

For one of my horses this is the 31st Christmas I have attended to him (and every other day of the year) and what thanks do I get? I get biffed in the backside whilst bending over to pick up his bowl and nearly sent flying into the snow :o

Same as usual when they are in at night. 11am to turn out and muck out (brekky done by YO around 9am, as usual). Back again at 4.30pm to put them in with avenate. YO feeds again with her lot around 5.30pm and last rounds at 10pm
